Reference your job
Contrary to some opinions there comes a point where what you do is more important than what you get paid
( no judgement here -each to their own as to what floats your boat)
But it's crap taking that call and not working when you really want to work - been there done that
The benefits of working in the ME are great Projects and a decent reward
The flick side is who you have to work with
🤬

Best of luck in finding something that suits

I guess I shouldn't say what business I'm in then. It ain't unicorns and rainbows. More of the kinetic application of diplomacy type thing. Takes all types to make the world go 'round.

Sure does. Nevertheless, I think it's a good thing when people feel strongly enough about something to put it before money or even job security. It's more respectful to the company, too: they don't benefit from having an employee who secretly despises what they do.

Stop encouraging @tyrantlizardrex to work.

We need him on the keyboard, on the pedant's box and scoping out the bargains.

There's two jobs right there

Wouldn't that be a thing!

If there was an opening to work with Petros and Alain at the museum, or with the marketing team... or with Fratello...

I think I'd really like to be a curator.

I tried sweet talking Petros at the Speedy Tuesday event... man that would be a cool job... especially with the museum growing in size on the new site.

For the big London museums (Science, Natural History, V&A, Wellcome, Design) they want people with Degree/MA qualifications in Curation... how does one move from Marketing?

That sucks. A degree in Enthusiasm speaks volumes to me...the rest can be learnt on the job. IMHO

If anyone wants to fund me setting up a store selling vintage Omega... the Davidoffs are doing a fantastic job of it in Geneva... but London... well I'm sure any of us could do a better job than Somlo. 👍

Who called the Spelling Polise?

Interesting point about the Queen's English, didn't know that... but in America we practice in practices.
You too are correct, America is the only English language country that does not make the distinction between the spelling of the word. Even Canada and Oz do. Probably best to keep it simple over there. We have both learnt something new today. 😀

Practice is a noun, practise is the verb, so you work at a law practiCe where you both practise law.

There is no such distinction in American English.

When it comes to principals some people just talk the talk. Respect to you for walking the walk. Good luck moving forward. 👍
