that given I had a new job, I'd be back at work, and not around, digesting stuff, talking nonsense.

Well in good/bad news, two weeks in, we've parted ways.

And I can go back to watching Speedmaster Auctions head north of "sensible".

Seriously though, the job hunt starts tomorrow.

If anyone needs a marketer in London... help a brother out... I have a Speedy Tuesday to pay for come Summer! ;)

Sorry to hear it! Plainly not a lizard-friendly workplace. Shocking how some people feel they can treat reptiles!

The people in my team were great, I knew the boss, I basically bought into her as a good manager, and the company wasn't on par with my expectations.

Combined with this, the company has just been bought by a much larger company that runs all of the arms fairs in the world... and that didn't sit very well with my morals... especially after I met the team at "defence and security" last Wednesday.

Friday we sat down to talk things through, today we agreed to mutually call it quits.

There's potentially a good job there for someone, but so many systems and organisational changes to make, that I don't even know where you'd start.

    On to the next challenge.

To note - If you don't want to (can't...) pick up your ST LE anymore in a few months, I'm sure there's a guy or two who could help you make a few quick bucks then :D

I don't understand why some characterize Speedmaster prices as unreasonable. The market is the market. It is driven by demand and supply and many new enthusiasts entering the market every day. I feel great about the market. There are a limited number of older "moon" watches, and there are simply more people looking for them than there are watches.

I said sensible... which is an objective term.

And my comment about Speedmasters refers to me watching a lot of auctions whilst unemployed late last year - but you weren't here then, so weren't to know (welcome along by the way).

Not to sound like our squirrelly friend, can we please not turn this into a thread about Speedmasters? Ta.

I'm not sure a cheese eater is a thing... well not a thing you get paid for.

Becoming a Yeoman warder (Beefeaters) is pretty hardcore:

    1. Be a former Warrant Officer, class 1 or 2, (or the equivalent rank in other services) and in exceptional circumstances, a Staff Sergeant, from the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force or Royal Marines.
    2. Hold the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal
    3. Have served within the regular armed services for at least 22 years
And then there's fierce competition... and you have to be a history buff. :)

"Sensible" is actually a subjective term, and thanks.

Sorry to hear, but hopefully the next thing to come along will be a good gig that will keep you well compensated and reasonably happy for a long time (yeah, I subscribe to 'get a job that pays well enough for you to do whatever hobbies, etc. make you happy' vs 'get a job you love')

That creature you've created is much more human than some of the defence/security people...
