The Seamaster Cosmic was introduced in 1967 and was produced into the early/mid 1970s.
Lots of options on these, hand wind and automatic, no date/date/day-date, stainless steel and gold plated, lots of dial variations. Beware of refinished dials, especially black ones.
Not to be confused with the later Seamaster Cosmic 2000, which is a completely different and unrelated watch.
Actually the first vintage Omega I purchased a long time ago and I still have it.
I had one of these but sold it a couple years ago. It had no date and a manual wind Cal 601 movement that kept great time and there is very little that can go wrong with these.
Amazing example, it looks really clean and the leather really complements it.
Was it restored by some chance?
As far as I could tell it was just a lovely original piece that had seen very little use and it was viewed by a couple watchmakers who definitely would have said something if they thought it was restored. A couple of the lume markers had partially worn away, but otherwise it was really excellent and came to me via a dealer in Zurich. Under heavy magnification you can see a few tiny marks on the dial, but they weren't normally visible to the eye.
Honestly both of these are stunning watches, the dials just look so simple and clean. That's really what a watch should be.
Nice dial but unfortunately someone took it from a 601 watch and cut a date window with the kitchen scissors.
Ow wow... not mentioned it yet but it can be true.... there is a quartz movement inside.. will try to get the dial off the movement and have a look at the back of the dial..
If so; its the end of the dial.👎... I think a 613 movement doest have the date window on the same place...
Great watches and an equally great entrance into vintage Omega.
Solid movements and a lot of dial variants to choose from.
Don't cheap out on cosmics though, some can be found for "little to nothing" but will often lack the appeal of a nice conserved case and dial which can be bought for only bit more with some patience and luck.
Happy hunting!
One of my former watches, sold here some time ago:

Brilliant watches, I couldn't recommend them highly enough. As mentioned above, the only downside is they are difficult to open but they make up for it with stunning designs
