I will say this. Since you’ve already sold it, what if it IS discontinued and yours would’ve been worth more like $25K! Obviously if demand is there in the future. Oh I would be kicking myself!!

It’s not sold... or at least it isn’t labeled as such.

What you have to remember is that if he is a dealer. All he will think about is the next watch to sell. Not about the watches he has sold. It is the same mind set as second hand car dealers.
There is a differentiation between the collector and the trader.

Glad to hear this. I think you would regret letting it go now.

    Sold mine in 2016.

Regretted it, bought another last June 2018 when it was 1 week (s)old.

The seller bugs me once a month for the past year to buy it back and I refuse.

I feel bad for him, but I have to watch out for moi.

As far as I am aware, “bumping” a private watch sale thread more than once a day would be frowned on. However it seems fine to start a thread about a watch you have on sale already well beforehand encouraging opinion in a way that could be seen as a cynical ploy trying to push interest and boost price. This doesn’t sit right with me but I guess I don’t make the rules.

The thread started with the assertion that an offer had been made for £11k for a watch you bought for £6k. The watch is on sale for £11.5k. Why not do a deal and move on?

Yes, well said, Gav1967! Nobody here has the answer you’re looking for,,, or anywhere else for that matter.

Ah, but if we keep reacting to this thread we bump it back to the top and keep it in everyone's sight, maybe we should stop commenting and just let the thread drop away?

Also, my son has given me "permission" to sell any of my Rolex except for the Hulk.

I honestly think it’s the best watch Rolex have made.

It’s a great watch, when many of theirs are quite sterile. Assuming you have a decent collection and don’t need to sell, I wouldn’t.

If it were me i'd sell it, i'm thinking of chucking my Daytona on the block soon just because of the price hikes in recent times. I can find just as attractive watches outside of Rolex that make me happy and have money to play with.
