I tend to err on the side of not buying. That means spending time trying on the watches and then waiting to see if I really want one. No issues if something is sold out.
I'm thankful I have the means to own two great pieces in the first place.
For the future, I want to be able to protect myself from buyer's remorse. Our access to information is a blessing and a curse for me when it comes to making these types of decisions.
Yes, the internet whets the appetite in many ways.
I am somewhat of a different mindset than most here, in a way. I don't consider a watch "a piece" or many watches "a collection".
E.g., my 5 jeans are not pieces and collectively are not a collection, They are jeans that I wear, perhaps each for different reasons / occasions.
And I certainly never buy thinking that I may resell them 😀
I ask myself, "Is this a need or a want? Either way, does it suit me, and is the style my style? How many do I already have and when will I use the new one?"
If I won't use it within the next 2 weeks, don't buy it.
So for example, I would never buy a watch thinking I will wear it with a suit in 2 months. And I would never buy thinking that if I don't like it I will resell it.
