Is it worth sending in a watch for service before the warranty expires?

If a watch is running fine, is it worth sending it in for a full service before the 5 year warranty expires? It would be nice to ensure everything is in good order, but I also read stories of people getting their watch back and the watch running differently after a service. Right now my watch is only gaining 1 sec a week, so if I can keep it like that, it'd be perfect.

If it breaks, I send it in for warranty repair. Otherwise I wait until it breaks, because Omega service costs the same anyway.

its unlikely Omega is going to give you a free service without anything actually being wrong with the watch just because you are still under warranty.

Service costs aren't covered by the warranty and it costs the same to repair it (assuming no major damage or abuse), routinely service it, or service it early.

Ahh, I see. I didn't realize the warranty wouldn't cover a routine service. That answers my question.
