Already has a few 'Character' scratches from opening attempts.

Take it to a watchmaker who knows what they are doing.

I think he was trying to be helpful should only cost 10-15 bucks at a watchmaker. Not a nice reply. He was trying to save you some scratches.
Did you use one of these? I’m not sure what else it’s not a press on case right?

There should be a 'nail nick' where you can use your case back knife to open it. Take a look with a loupe to see if you can spot it.

Awesome 2nd post. You stated that you don't know what you are doing, so going to a pro is a valid response. No need to be snarky.

Im using victorinox swiss knife, and different watches, usually opens with no problems ,easily, but this one is unusually tight. I just bought it today and wanted to open myself, but don't want to try to hard, to not damage it. You're right, I will go to watchmaker rather.

Ya if you don’t have a case back opener probably the best move. But that was @sheepdoll suggestion first

Not nice at all indedd. And that would be a « she », @sheepdoll is a woman. And indeed the standard advice would be to tell people not to open cases on their own — and to bring them to professionals.

But the OP is such a sherlock himself he must have not found the sticky thread on top of the subforum:

ps I find it stunning anyone would charge anything just to open a case.

Well case opening plus battery usually they just charge for battery. Sorry didn’t realize sheepdoll was female with such a manly avatar name. My insensitivity is getting out of control I need more classes on how to handle such matters I beg forgiveness and sorry for the pain I caused
