Only 200 (or 250 I can’t remember 100%) were sold online by Hodinkee, the rest sold the traditional way through Omega Boutiques.

Yes, but it still doesn’t change the fact that it was sold online

If Omega partially sold the 50th with NASA they would sell some.

NASA site would have a shop wouldn't it.

With Omega not attending Basel this year does anyone actually know when we will see these and when they might be available?
I thought they're attending this year (2019), and that it will be their *final* year attending.

Well, I recommend to buy a Vintage Speedmaster which was produced around 1969. IMO that will give you a much stronger personal connenction to the historical event of the Moon Landing (in case you need that feeling) . Look out for a NASA issued Version 😁

No, they’re done with Basel. 2018 was the last time for the Swatch group.

OB Zurich said they didn't keep a waitlist but would keep me updated in case they learnt something. I'm less than optimistic I'll hear from them again.

Nearby AD called and mentioned that corporate has allowed them to collect 5k deposit for the 50th anniversary watch and they are expecting second half of this year for the release. No information on the final price or even if it will be a limited edition. Was assured that if I change my mind after the watch was announced they will return my money back.

I think they will launch it online just like the ST's, but perhaps some down payment will be required at an Omega Boutique after you reserve online within a certain period or else the reservation will be canceled and go to the waiting list

I too was contacted by my AD. Was told deposit is $5k and the edition size will be of 5000 pieces. Too many for my taste.

The price could be high enough to scare potential buyers...

Talked to OB Zurich again earlier today - they already have a "long" waitlist, but take no deposits (yet).
