Anyone else holding off from buying another Speedy until Omega announces what it'll do to commemorate this special landmark moment? We all know Omega love a commemorative LOL

Seems most desired feature will be a 'modern' 321 movement.

Just hope they make more of an effort than they did with the 50th Speedy Anniversary. That was just sad.

Not sure what the intent is here. Kind of strange posts for a brand new member to make. Just trying to see if any feathers can get ruffled?

Been a member 18 months so not brand new. Genuine question. Sorry if I ruffled your feathers.

I personally hope they revive the 321, even if it's just for one edition. However, it's probably just not going to happen. :(

If they did, which I think would be the biggest marketing buzz that Omega could do, Speedy collectors heads would explode! I think it would be genius on Omega's part if they did, even for just one LE. It would create an enormous buzz!

During the Basel 2018 novelties presentation the boutique manager promised/announced some big surprise to come this year. I expect some Speedytuesday surprise.

If it’s a 321 movement I’ll join the peace corp. They are not resurrecting a 50 year old movement and it’s tooling for a LE. These where not hand made movements. With spares availability issues they are not going to magically find 50 movements.

Platinum “moon dust” dial. Although technically that would have been the 70th...

OK Platinum case diamond (moon) dust dial.

I mean, Vacheron Constatin, Breguet, and Patek Philippe still use variants of the CH27 Lemania movement today. iirc they order the parts from Lemania, and then finish them in-house, so who knows what Omega could do. The fact of the matter is that I don't see them resurrecting the 321 merely due to the fact that the 861/1861 is so much more convenient.

Look into how those differ from the base and if Lemania actually provides any parts for them. Those are all much more heavily modified then you would assume and are licensed.

I'm doing exactly this and holding off buying the Hodinkee edition Autavia to save funds for this watch. Really hoping I'm not disappointed in the offering!

In honour of all the existing, incorrect, examples of the Omega Speedmaster Professional 105.012 that are floating around the planet, it would be nice if they turned out a 50th anniversary Speedy first aid kit. All done up in a lovely red leather Omega presentation case.:D
    It would contain:
A 'reference correct' flat link bracelet with end links
    A dot over 90 bezel.
A 24 tooth flat foot crown.
A pair of 3mm low pushers & fat tubes.
A set of tritium hands with drop end chrono hand.

Let's get all these dodgy old watches sorted out!

This will unfortunately not happen as much as I would like it to. I've talked to the product dept and the column wheel is reserved for Breguet and Vacheron. However something amazing will drop for 11.

They should get Buzz Aldrin to sign something that's in each box or the box itself seeing as Omega have close ties with him and he unfortunately may not still actually be with us come the 60th Moon landing anniversary and it will be a limited number produced so it's not like he'd have to do tens of thousands of them.

Even if you do want a 50th Anniversary edition I imagine it'll be like rocking horse poo to get one.
