How Many Speedmasters Do You Own?

I've only owned two Omega Speedmasters, but not at the same time. My first was a 145.022-78 which I sold to purchase another watch. I currently own a 105.012-66 which I plan to keep.

I am curious, for those of you who have more than one Speedmaster, is there a theme? Do you only collect calibre 321, do you try to have an example of each reference number, do you collect special editions, modern vs vintage, Snoopy, etc?

I don't have multiple examples of the same reference in any watch brand I own, but, I am thinking of having both examples of the Omega Speedmaster 105.012-66, HF and CB.

So, how many, and why?
One and one only. Wear it every day.

Just the one, CK2998 2018 - love the execution of the Panda dial, and the specific LE number xxxx/2998 I managed to get.

@Pazzo

They’re never together, 2 are always in the bank, maybe one day I’ll shoot them as a group.

Won’t leave you with nothing though, here’s a pic I like of the 2998:

That is still so incredible looking to me.

It looks like we're counting any Speedmaster, so I also have the Grey Side of the moon, in addition to my three Speedmaster Pro. Pic taken about 3 weeks ago.

My trifecta (Mitsukoshi mod, not LE, real Speedy Tuesday ST1)

Two. A FOIS and a Speedy Reduced. I see a full-set 2017 regular hesalite Moonwatch going on a local small adds site for a decent price (3.2k) and I'm sorely tempted. He refused 3k already.

Fully loaded birth year Speedmaster 145.022-76 sold in 78. Cornerstone piece does a terrific job timing while coaching my daughters field hockey as well as timing eggs. For the rest I sell many vintage Speedmasters on behalf of some collectors. So I have the joy of handling those and getting to know these pieces.

I wouldn't let $200 spoil the deal if it is a good example and it fits in your collection, and you want it. My father once cancelled a house deal because the buyer wanted my dad to throw in a $100 portable dehumidifier as part of the deal. My dad refused and that was that. I never could figure out his rationale. But people are often irrational about deals.

1 which is an FOIS, 2nd one bought but awaiting shipment from Japan - it is the Tokyo Rising Sun - pics when it arrives.

Never held a Rising Sun but bought it because it looks stunning in all the pictures - anyone with any thoughts or first hand experience with it, love to hear your comments...

Update...My collection has grown to three.
As I already mentioned, I wanted to have an example of each of the 105.012-66 case designs, HF and CB. I decided on the 145.022-68 Transitional as I wished to acquire an 861 movement, flat bottomed chronograph hand and the step dial that I so admire... plus the condition was amazing. I’m done collecting for awhile... I hope.

Currently four...3 pros and 1 reduced.

However that doesn't mean I'm a speedy dweeb. It just means everyone else with more than one is! 😁

34. Therapy is the only option. Once I get started on something, it's tricky to stop, and they are such little tiny, shiny, beautiful things.
Honestly, I just want to collect one of each and tend to focus on the space related ones - and the digitals, being a child of the 70s.
My advice, stop now while you can.
