How Many Speedmasters Do You Own?

I've only owned two Omega Speedmasters, but not at the same time. My first was a 145.022-78 which I sold to purchase another watch. I currently own a 105.012-66 which I plan to keep.

I am curious, for those of you who have more than one Speedmaster, is there a theme? Do you only collect calibre 321, do you try to have an example of each reference number, do you collect special editions, modern vs vintage, Snoopy, etc?

I don't have multiple examples of the same reference in any watch brand I own, but, I am thinking of having both examples of the Omega Speedmaster 105.012-66, HF and CB.

So, how many, and why?

One lonely Speedmaster lives here.

Why?

Because I admired the Speedmaster, wanted an example and the example I found was an amazing price ... and then they came down even more.

I'm seriously considering owning a whole lot fewer... Combination of losing passion for collecting and have my eyes on something else that will take a boat load of money.

Just the one.

Worn practically every day, so no real need for any more at this point. Plus they’ve increased in value so much I’ve been exploring other avenues for watches...

Only one. Worn during the entire working week, and even sometimes on weekends...

I would like to eventually get a Mark II Racing...

One. 3250.00 or as I’ve heard it mentioned as the Triple Date or Triple Calendar.
It was the first watch I saw as a young adult and gave me the wow factor. Could not believe that a wristwatch could do all the things it did while looking so damn good. Got nostalgic about it around two years ago when our son was about to be born. Ordered it, two days later the little man was born, when we got back from the hospital it was waiting at the doorstep. About two weeks later my wife had her first “night out” for dinner with the MIL so I stayed home and fed, burped, changed my newborn for the first time on my own and that night I took the watch out and wore it for the first time.

So this one has a special place for me.

The problems spending more time around here are that I’m wanting more and that I’m relaxing my photo skills are absolutely abominable.

Nine total (one vintage, eight are 2017 to present releases). Six are LEs. I have no real interest in 321s, birth year watches, or other esoteric details like particular dials, bezels, bracelets. That's fine for others but not of interest to me. I buy what I like and prefer to have the full kit.

Latest acquisition is a Speedy Tuesday #1 bought from a vendor here on OF at a good price. A very nice watch with an interesting dial and satin finished case. A sleeper, imo.

Just 1 now, a Dark Side of the Moon (does that even count)?

I am looking to buy a 145.022 in good condition (within the EU), but struggle with most Chrono24 offers (poor pictures and poor descriptions). So I will patiently wait for a nice FS topic here or on the German or Dutch watch forum.

Two. A 175.0033, Speedmaster reduced from 1990, 18-karat rose gold and steel, and a 345.0808 Speedmaster from 1990, the first model of Speedmaster with a sapphire case back.

I have 3 all modern.

Bought 2013, wanted to make my own vintage watch and live tropical. Wear it every day and don't care if it gets wet or scratched. Reading all the stories of guys buying one owner watches made my mind up to buy new and wear it for 20 years
( I collect vintage dress watches so new appealed in Speedmasters )

Had the money to buy a New Rolex but this happened.

Two, but neither is a classic Moonwatch. First the Triple Date to celebrate my 40th. Didn't know anything about Omega/Speedmasters, just saw it at an AD and knew it was the one - still worn regularly. Second, the DSOTM (on it's Summer rubber strap in this pic), to celebrate my 50th - still didn't know much about Omega/Speedmasters, but saw this in an OB and had to have it. Before buying I did online research to find out what that "black Omega" I saw was. That research brought me to OF, which I joined shortly thereafter - and as a result of that, let's just say that thanks to all the expertise shared on here, now I know a lot about Omega/Speedmasters!

I have two, a Pro and a FOIS. Really want the coming Snoopy and maybe a birth year and that will be enough.

I sometimes wear my wife's Speedy but I have it on pink rubber straps now as the NATO was too pink and white NATO's don't suit me.

With the resources available to me, I just wanted to collect enough Speedmasters to commemorate significant events for Omega in association with the Moon landing program (imho) - so my plan for 6:

1. First Omega in Space - FOIS
2. First Omega in EVA - Gemini IV
3. First Watch on the Moon - Apollo 11 50th
4. A Moonwatch reference - 145.012-67
5. First NASA Snoopy Award watch - Apollo 13 50th (5K deposited at OB, waiting patiently ...)
6. Transitional to Space Station - 145.022-68

And, cal - 321, 861, 1861, 3861 - are all represented.
