Before going to bed I always remove my watch, wedding ring, glasses, hearing aids and suspenders but I keep my socks on.

I sleep with one of my watches on, usually not the one I wore all day.

Alone is bed is one thing. When I'm in bed with my wife, I wear two watches...one to time her and the other to time me. Both are fly back chronographs.

Always, since my first watch as a child... watches leave my wrist only under six occasions:
1. To change to another watch.
2. To shower.
3. To clean the watch.
4. To have the watch serviced - but another goes on my wrist in that event.
5. I've sold the watch (but another is immediately on my wrist in that case anyway).
6. The three times in my life I've had surgery.

Question -
Is it odd, even at 59 years old, that one of the main reasons I wear a watch to bed is to pull the sheets up over my head and stare at the lume for a few minutes each night before sleep befalls me?
My wife thinks it's "weird yet sort of cute, but mostly weird"... I usually tell her, "No, I'm just checking to make sure my balls are still attached after this many years of marriage," to whit she rolls her eyes and falls asleep.

You have to love the humor of a married man.... funny, because it is true....

Our jeweler of many years has advised my bride not to wear her gold wedding ring to bed as abrasion from the sheets will wear the setting prongs down.
I don't wear any watch to bed but would be leery of clunking around an 18k watch.

It would sound like boasting if one said they required a commando rated deep diver for the bedroom.

I've solved the problem with a nice clock on the bedstand.

I used to sleep/shower/everything with my first nice watch, a Rootbeer GMT. I realized that sleeping in a jubilee bracelet expedites stretching. After getting the bracelet repaired I stopped sleeping with the watch on. I’ve got a little leather valet next to the bed that holds my glasses and watch while I sleep.

I don't wear a watch at night normally. When I got my first watch as a kid (I think it was a Darth Vader digital thing) I kept it on all the time except when taking a bath, and I had it on a little too tight and ended up getting irritated skin on my wrist, so I then got in the habit of taking it off at night. I also have terrible eyesight, which led to a lot of habits related to making sure that things are in the right place so that I can find them quickly if I happen to not have my contacts or glasses on. So my nighttime ritual is to make sure glasses, phone, and watch are all where they are supposed to be on my bedside table.

I sleep with my Apple Watch on as it works great as a personal alarm clock that doesn’t wake my wife up at the same time.

Nope. I'm a light sleeper, and as nuts as this sounds, the extra weight would be enough to bug me and stay awake.

No I put it on bedside table right next to me and watch it until I fall asleep. I’m too clumsy, and apparently small fibres etc… can catch in the watch whilst sleeping and moving about.

Always!

It does not matter which one from the collection of Speedys, even my 18k Moonshine Speedy is regularly on my nightwrist - no worries.

I wear my smartwatch because it has the wake up vibrating so I don't disturb anyone 😉

Ok, i have never done it but have this sudden urge to do it tonight and get the "what is wrong with you?!!" from the better half. But of course this forum has given me all the legit reasons to explain... she is going to totally buy the "need to see the bathroom in the dark" rationale. 😁
