How many of you sleep with their watch on?

I always wear a watch when sleeping. I have worn one all my life and throughout my time in the service, we didn’t have night stands. (Or anything really, besides what was in our packs/vehicles).
I hate having to check my phone for the time at night since the light is so bright.
When I first wake up and roll about, my first thought is about the time and glancing at my watch is great way to wake up. Sometimes I’m even surprised by what I put on, or strap change I made before bed…. Esp if alcohol is involved.

For 24 years I slept with my Accutron on. When I got into Rolex I started taking them off so I could track how much they gained or lost when resting on the night table in different position. But as the big one for Los Angeles get more over due every day, I've gone back to sleeping with a watch on. It might be part of a 24 or 12 hour rotation...or to just give one of the lessor worn watches a little wrist time.

Having no watch on your wrist will be the least of your problems.

Only when sleeping in a ditch [1], or on the back seat of a car being driven at high speed [2].

[1] Eg arriving at Silverstone for the GP at dawn well before the ticket gates open.

[2] Rally service barge, one drives, one navigates, one sleeps -- for four days continuously interrupted only by the need to get the spanners out.

Oh, there's aeroplanes too when in cattle class, not at the front obv.

I generally do. I’m a restless sleeper, so it’s an easy way to keep my automatics fully wound. 😲

I flail and roll around too much in my sleep, if my girlfriend caught an accidental bezel to the face she would be deeply angered. Watch stays off at night.

My wife hates the modern Ploprof. I banged her up a couple of times.

I like to wear either one of the two Seiko divers I have (SKX013 and a modified SPB143).

Everytime I wake up in the morning I like to check the time... first things first.

Not having a watch on during sleep and the thought of having to reach out for my phone and the possibility of it running out of battery... That all bothers me. 😲

The lume (coming from super luminova) on a Seiko Diver's is really bright. 👍

I wear an Apple watch at night and keep it on through my morning workout.

Then it's analog for the rest of the day.

Night time is the only time when i actually need the watch to tell the time, during the day i just enjoy staring at it as an eye candy 😀

Guilty of being an habitual wearer of watches while I sleep... I generally don't remove it to shower either. I have a couple that I need to keep out of the water, so those come off religiously before showering. Like others have said, if I am in a hotel, I make sure I'm wearing something I won't have to remove for any reason, for fear of inadvertently leaving it behind.

I almost never wear a watch when I am in my home. One of the first things I do when I go in the door is to take my watch off.

I can wear one for days if I am traveling, but I just do not like wearing a watch at home.

I’m a no in bed, preferring to be unencumbered by anything unnecessary … wear one at home sometimes, always when going to work or going out - even fishing, swimming etc

If it is a diver's watch with a rotating bezel or a chronograph, you can actually use it to check your stamina and performance... speaking for a friend. 😎

Always - modern. Never - vintage. Same with cycling, swimming, skiing, etc.

More importantly : how did the old folk do it? Does my 60 year old XYZ look so nice and used because a previous custodian did everything with his watch on for decades? Likely. Or take it off when he ‘lived’? Unlikely.

Was gonna say "Nope", then I remembered the Apple Watch. I only wear it at night, for the sleep app. The app is called Autosleep (I know they have an integrated app now but I learned this one before the integrated one was available). There's a companion alarm app that not only wakes you up during light sleep, but can be set for many modes, including minimum sleep and latest wake.

Well recommended.

I wear my watch only when I'm outside my office/home - I take it to offer when I'm on my desk at the office and when i get home
