How many of you sleep with their watch on?

Over the years, I've noticed that a huge majority of people systematically remove their watch to leave it on the night stand or a dresser before going to bed. This made me self-conscious about my own habits, because I certainly don't do that.

Instead, whatever watch I am wearing at the time is staying on my wrist during my slumber. In fact, not having a timepiece on stresses me out and as a result may mess up the quality of my sleep. So the only moment I remove my watch during the day is the one I spend under the shower.

Am I the only one? Should I seek medical attention?

I never take mine off to sleep. Is that abnormal?

I flail and roll around too much in my sleep, if my girlfriend caught an accidental bezel to the face she would be deeply angered. Watch stays off at night.

I generally don’t wear a watch around the house, let alone in bed.

I have some vintage watches with radium dials and tend to sleep with a hand under the pillow. Not a good combination.

For 24 years I slept with my Accutron on. When I got into Rolex I started taking them off so I could track how much they gained or lost when resting on the night table in different position. But as the big one for Los Angeles get more over due every day, I've gone back to sleeping with a watch on. It might be part of a 24 or 12 hour rotation...or to just give one of the lessor worn watches a little wrist time.

I didn’t used to but when we had children I started wearing my watch in bed.

My wife was feeding but I still woke up and wanted to check on the time (oh, god, is it really only 1.30???) because I usually woke up when she did - not that I could do much to help - apart from offering to make (and sometimes actually making) her a cup of tea.

Now I wear one out of habit. And waking up is entirely down to me (and I still need to check the time without putting a light on) (What! only 2.45???).

I wore my brand new watch to bed last night; I fell asleep reviewing all the articles and videos about it I’d already seen millions of times before. Re-reading watch stories…can you imagine? That must make me doubly weird.

Usually, however, they sit on the night table beside the bed.

I sleep with a Ball watch on my wrist so I can see the bathroom in the dark.

I'll take my vintage watch off cuz I don't want to break it against the nightstand. So, I have a leather watch box with a spot for my glasses and a watch.

No - mainly so I do not clunk my better half. Also after working away a lot / too many hotels, I sometimes stagger off in the wrong direction when half-asleep so want to protect the watch. If I am away and there is nowhere safe to keep the watch or I am super tired (aka tipsy) very occasionally the watch stays on.

I generally wear mine. I stay in hotels quite a bit and I don't like running the risk of leaving it behind in the morning. I wake up, remove it for the shower, place it on the edge of the sink, then put it back on when finished.

I don't wear a watch at night, mostly because I can't see it, because it's dark, ya know, at night....

I just started wearing a watch at night for the same reason. My wife and I brought our twins home last week. It's definitely a lot easier to check the time on a watch and maybe go back to sleep (if it's not my turn to go feed and clean the little chunksters) than it is to check the time on my phone. At least the watch has the courtesy to not display a dozen alerts on an unnecessarily bright screen in the middle of the night.
