How do you store your watches?

Well, I have a small 9 places Auriol box. Really cheap but it makes perfectly the job. It costs about 10 pounds.

Its a sad state of affairs but with the amount of people I know personally who have lost their entire collections it's just not 'safe' to have them at home for me!

Frankly, they are not very safe in a bank safe deposit box these days, either. Have you read the terms of your contract, and/or given any thought to what will happen when (not if) the next systemic bank crisis occurs? "Bail-ins" will not be confined to small countries like Cypress.

Just got this as an unexpected gift from my wife. Of course it only holds six watches so I, um, need a couple more 😉 The rest are in a Pelican box.

@Sergio Maclean - I see you have two watches on some of your spots that would normally hold one. What a wonderful way to double up... looks like you have some room to purchase plenty more watches.

Works for the Antique and some vintage because of size, but once you're above 38 mm it's not so easy. But I just like having everything on one case. I too the swatch watches out and the Carteir MC because I'm selling it, and have a separate case for my wife.

I still have more space around...not so much the Bank account. I need to take a break for a few months before my wife takes a break from me!!

Just a reminder about online safety chaps - it's best not to mention anything about storage locations or arrangements.

Don't forget your location can often be easily seen from the tagging data on uploaded pics :0

Was just about to post a photo of my winder/case and collection but thought better of it! Call me paranoid but I work in IT and some of my IT security guys see some very creative stuff going on out there!

Hmm, I have never thought that posting a pic from home with a box could expose me 🙁
The warning looks very legit and we really should take into consideration.

I leave my watches unbagged sitting in a compartmental watch tray in the safe.

In an effort to simplify things and cut expenses, I am now keeping my money and watches together. 👍

I can get 6-8 watches per each one quart Mason jar.

A mattress has more capacity, and won't shatter.

Of course you'll need to dig a bigger hole. 😉

May I ask where she purchased this? Looks very safe, even for travel.👍

She bought a standard Pelican 1470 laptop case - Amazon or eBay probably.

The custom watch insert came from the "Martinator" ... link below and is much better than the DIY "pick and pluck" foam that comes with the case. Several sizes are available to fit larger or smaller Pelican cases.

I've got a case like that. Are you able to share where the custom foam came from?

Edit: nevermind. D'oh!

It varies by day.

Or

Or sometimes just laying around. But then they go missing and I suspect this is what you want to avoid. I usually find them, but my pebble watch has been missing for about a year.
shelf seems to be the most convenient, until they go missing.

I think this guy is out of business or something - I bought the insert from him 2 months ago, and I've heard nothing, no communication, no product. buyer beware. If anyone knows this guy, go do a wellness check at his house.

I tried to order one too - just a black hole - no communication. It amazes me - this guy has a good product, gets himself some nice publicity, people are lining up to give him money, and....nothing. I heard the same thing on another forum, I think you have to be very very patient. Which I'm not - so a few days ago I used these guys - http://www.mycasebuilder.com - to create my own insert. I had already done one with the cut and pluck stuff, which turned out fine, but I'm so anal about this stuff, I want it to be perfect. Anyway, we'll see how it turns out, but I'm hopeful...
