How do you store your watches?

It isn't elegant, but it is a solution for fitting the maximum number of watches into a small safe in the tropics...

Echoing repoman - I just want to highlight that TimJohn (picture up-thread) has a bag of desiccant with each watch in each ziplock baggie. I mistakenly stored a watch in a baggie without desiccant and got some minor dial spotting from moisture - maybe from the leather strap - concentrating through temperature changes over time.

Bank Box with a few lesser value ones at home. All on constant rotation.

In these and hide at home when necessary. Crime is not a problem where I live. Guess I will have to buy another one soon.馃榾

I keep mine in a 200 lb safe in a hard place to get to. Im thinking if you have a small type safe or container all a thief has to do is pick it up and POOF your whole collection is gone.

Just a reminder about online safety chaps - it's best not to mention anything about storage locations or arrangements.

Don't forget your location can often be easily seen from the tagging data on uploaded pics :0

Good point Warren, but as I understand the images on our forum, no EXIF data is retained.

It may be different for any linked pics, e.g. Photobucket.

I live literally round the corner from my bank so most live in there (very warmly wrapped as I have a lot of quartz), I keep 1 or 2 at home with me at anyone time, which is a shame because I have some very cool ex medical display cases, which at the moment are housing my humble Omega clocks!

Its a sad state of affairs but with the amount of people I know personally who have lost their entire collections it's just not 'safe' to have them at home for me!
Same for me ----> safe in my bank

The mods are able to see the geo data Jim. Not sure what measures Trev and Ash have in place to protect it from non-admin accounts, but obviously people should bear all this in mind. Especially in view of this being a public forum which already attracts some scammer/criminal interest.

No one use watch winders? How often do you wind?
Me, once a week I get them all rolling...but I wear a different one every day, sometimes 2 if I have a dinner to got to or something. I can only imagine what those that have 100 plus watches have to deal with it, i have about 26 so it's maneagable

@Sergio Maclean - I see you have two watches on some of your spots that would normally hold one. What a wonderful way to double up... looks like you have some room to purchase plenty more watches.

+1 but a few less columns - mostly because I service my cheaper watches myself.

How difficult is to service by yourself a watch? A newbie like me how should start?
