How do people rate JLC?

I own one, a Master Control, but am keen on getting my hands on a Reverso. They are understated excellence and far classier than many brands out there.

I know what you mean. I am coming round to the idea of a Reverso. Possibly in yellow gold.

I like the stainless steel options but there is a rose gold one that is out of my budget but keeps calling my name....

The value for money it’s JLC is pretty amazing considering the quality, in the sub $8k range you have some incredible options used in JLC, brand new it’s a brand you can lose a lot on but used examples tend to be well kept and low use so there’s no reason not to buy used really

IMO the depreciation issue is they get punished for 1) producing SS watches at attractive price points 2) Volume 3) Their heritage and ongoing business as a movement maker.

Jaeger LeCoultre was not a well known brand to the public prior to the early 90's when the Reverso case was redesigned and upgraded, and they came out with the Master Control line, which included an update on the classic triple date. That was the initial push for JLC to trade on its own under the JLC brand worldwide (no more LeCoultre name for the USA), or in being major suppliers of movements to third parties. But the new prices are no bargains, imo. But their quality is very good.

One of the earliest rose gold models in the Grand Taille case, one of 150 for the Italian market, November 1992.

That is a peach.

This is the only watch I have ever purchased new, from a dealer. I just had to have it.

This dial, to me, is assymetry done right...

Yeah, that one and mine!

My favorite watch of all time is @SpikiSpikester 's JLC triple date....hard to say for an Omega fanboy.
Can't find the photo, so time to get the old boy out of bed to share it with us!

I’m surprised that no one has mentioned the Futurematic…one of the oddest watches ever made.

It’s an automatic watch, but without a clutch on the mainspring. The rotor will lock up when fully wound and release itself after several hours.

The mainspring will hold a 4-6 hours reserve when it stops, so simply starts again when you pick it up. There is no crown at all, but sliding the button on the back will stop the watch to allow for synchronization.

So many interesting features, only the wizards at JLC could produce something like this.

To be fair, I am quite common and I know about them. 😀
Me too. No Royal blood on either side. But I still have a JLC. 😀😀😀

Had it... and sold it...

Meteorite dial was def a turn on, coupled with the proportionate case size and displays but somehow this master calendar just didn't stick around long.
