How do people rate JLC?

I recently bought a Master Control and am quite impressed with it. Beforehand JLC wasn't really on my radar, but I am now becoming quite interested in JLC as a maker. I think in part it is because they are quite low profile.

What do others here think about JLC?

I can't afford them, but they are iconic. The reverso is so classic, an ideal dress watch. The Master Control Moon is the definitive moon phase to me.

It is the watchmakers watchmaker, maybe the best value luxury brand IMHO.

JLC is probably the best high horology manufacturer for the money. In an entirely different league than Omega and Rolex. I only have one, but it's a gorgeous watch.

Deep swiss heritage and the best value for money at the higher end. They made the movements for the big 3. Understated designs. My two…

Congrats!

JLC wasn't on my radar until 2019 when I got a pre-owned MUT (Master Ultra Thin). Love the subtle color of the rose gold and how THIN it is.

There were a few pieces of my 38mm back then. Now, I don't see many out there, if at all.

The solid pink gold rotor on my JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon. Note how the rotor’s shape incorporates the company’s hallmark “JL” symbol. Someone put one hell of a lot of thought into designing this watch. And it runs even better than it looks.

I don't have one, but I have a huge amount of respect for the brand, as mentioned above, they're the 'watchmaker's watchmaker'.

I have an overwhelming desire to own the Reverso Grande GMT.

I find the quality of the finishing of the dials better than most watches at their price point.

I used to have 5 JLCs, but sold 3, and am now just left with 2 Reversos. Love them both! Iconic watches.

That makes me want to shout with joy and scream with pain at the same time.....
After this debacle, Goodwill changed their policy regarding watches.

For the newcomer, can someone fill me in as to what happened here? I am guessing that a shop sold something good for pennies, am I right?
