How could a Flightmaster be the wrong choice?

@tikkathree unless you see an amazing never to be repeated deal, there is not need to rush into a flightmaster purchase.

Supply outstrips demand.

I would really vouch for a 145.013 because of the striking colors... but again, I am biased!! 😎

Much more comfortable than anticipated and a great watch for the weekend... or anytime!! 😉

If the question was ‘which watch went to the moon?’
a) speedmaster
b) flightmaster
c) seamaster

That is when flightmaster would be the wrong choice.::rimshot::

...I’ll see myself out.

No, you can stay. I expect you pride yourself on pedantry? I do.

Sigh.....
My first "buy a Flightmaster through EBay" is now in the hands of PayPal who are considering how a watch in a box with a tracking number morphs into a 4" x 5" envelope with the correct tracking number & barcode containing one sheet of A4. I had reservations initially based on nothing more than geography: I had lots of good comms with the seller, persuaded myself to overcome the unfounded reservations and here we are, three weeks wasted.
I might even throw the baby out with the bath water and turn to Sinn for a gmt hand chrono but, as I've got this lovely big book "Flightmaster Only" to enjoy I'm trying again to find a Flightmaster: I'm tracking EBay but only on certain continents (irrational? Once bitten, twice shy) but if any of you guys has one for sale?
Dang it!

You should have no problem if you provided a photo of the envelope that you received showing the tracking #. If you're going to get scammed on eBay, you're best off getting scammed ineptly. Don't let that experience deter you from trying again after you get your refund. Just make sure that you always follow eBay/PayPal guidelines on the transaction: only checkout through eBay and only pay that exact seller using Goods & Services on PayPal. Would you mind posting a link to the original listing for the benefit of the community?

It was a PayPal goods & services purchase not through EBay but a "chronocentric" website listing found through good old watchrecon.

I habitually video unboxing every watch I receive by postal service or courier but a flat envelope.... photo taken and sent to PayPal and WHEN the refund comes through I will post a link to the original listing which the seller has presumably "forgotten" to take down or Mark as sold.

I have never bought through Chronocentric but I have read here on OF that it's a minefield. Of course, you would have liked to have known that before your purchase.

Flightmaster is a special watch. You must get it.
Yes, but which special watch - original and weather-worn or tarted up and pretty?
Which dial and handset? I think I know my preference for the subdial at 9 - running seconds.

Tricky innit?

All original and with bracelet, of course. A 145.026, 145.036 is a good option. Orange or yellow chrono hands, what do you prefer?

With the hooded lugs, size is not such an issue as it could be.. It wears smaller.. Try to get an original dial, with the - T Swiss made T - regrettably mine is an Omega Service issue dial, sans the T's.
Classic Omega from that Classic Omega era..
I bought mine from the Sales Forum on "On the Dash"

I prefer the Cal 911

Sorry I am away from my data and I can't remember the numbers. There's pretty well only 2 from recollection. Could be wrong. I had mine recently serviced by Adam Lewis, it came up a treat and will be sure to get back to this with a pic and details upon return.
