How accurate is your Omega?

Pretty simply. I set it using the official atomic clock time, and checked again two weeks and a month later. It was 15 and then 30 seconds ahead.

Wow. I wish my 1861 was that good! Mine is only 9 months old and it's been consistently +9/day. It's within specs technically so there's little I can do without voiding the warranty or sending it in with the hope that they would make it better. And there's no guarantee of that. But I still love it.

I wind the watch every morning at 24 hours base, don’t know if this helps

full accuracy test bellow

My recently serviced Speedmaster Mk40 is now somewhere +4+5s/day. I wear my watches 24x7, so no night adjustment.

For very many years before servicing it solidly was -3-4s/day down from about -6s/day when new. Since it took some 3~6 months to settle, I'll see if the same happens after servicing.

Yes - easy enough to get it demagnetized and see if the rate returns to normal.

This seems to have worked ! Back down to +2, 3/ day ...thanks !

How did you demagnetize?

I used a demagnetizer from Amazon ... Also the watch was magnetized I checked with bunch of phone apps. Magnetism went right back down afterwards.

Over been nearly 48 hrs now

Omega Trésor Master-Coaxial mvt 8910 from 2021: +2" per day
Omega Seamaster 150m 15.000 Gaus mvt 8508 from 2014: +0,3" per day
Omega Speedmaster Professional mvt 1861 from 1999: +10" per day
Omega X33 Skywalker from 2015: -1" per month
Values change a bit with usage and time since last maintenance

A question for you - the 8508 Seamaster - have you had it serviced since 2014?

I just made a couple of other posts about this, but my new Speedmaster (3861) is keeping +0.4 seconds per day since I last set it at Daylight savings time (not timed officially on a timegrapher, just checking with the Apple clock on my laptop). Remarkable.

I had a CT scan the other day, and realized at the last moment that I was still wearing my 1861. Worried about possible magnetism, etc. I took it off, hopefully in the nick of time.
Weird thing is, in the two weeks since, the watch has been keeping perfect time, down from the +5 per day it was operating at previously...

CT scanners do not work with magnets, it's a MRI that works with magnets

My new Globemaster (7 weeks old) is running between +1 & +2 seconds a day. Very happy with that.

My most accurate watch is the new Sub 124060 at +1 sec. per week. My AT (METAS certified) comes close.

My 1965 Seamaster DeVille (cal. 565) on a watch winder turning clockwise at 850 TPD gained an average of 5 sec/day during a 30-day period.

Fair enough, thanks. It did get magnetised somehow, not sure which machine did it...

My new SMP 300 with a caliber 8800 is between +3.5 and +4.6 SPD when worn and dial up at night.

The METAS results for average daily variation in 6 positions is +3.2 SPD.

I've been playing around with different resting positions at night and crown down gains more time and dial down seems to as well. Not sure how many SPD but I'll test a bit more next week.

I'll leave it on a winder next week for a few days and see what happens.

So it gains under +5 SPD when normally worn all day for a week which is just fine by me and not losing time is great.

My 2298.80, 3594.50, and 145.022-69ST all are pretty much dead on. +/-1 second over a couple months. Haven't really looked into my new-to-me 2254.50. Never really looked at the 166.0324 that closely but it doesn't disappoint.

Don't know if you saw it but my 2254.50 has had a bad experience with magnetism and my M1 MacBook Pro. Something to watch out for.
