Having had a few hiccups with my 22295.1 recently I've been keeping an eye on it's timekeeping.
For the last week it has been spot on i.e. within a variaion of 1/2 secs it hasn't lost or gained.
Not bad for a 60 year old watch that I wear 24/7.

I don't time my UGs and I suspect that if I did, it would be a frustrating experience.....

sorry to the OP, I'm not trying to derail your post.
I get OCD about all kinds of things on my watches, just not usually timekeeping, but I'm sure others monitor this more vigilantly and can weigh in......

I do not care about time keeping. I just want them to run fine and to be on my wrist under the sunshine. :D

How you gage half a second ? How many positions ? Sounds questionable ?

I think OP means that within a half second time period it doesn’t lose or gain

Positions are very important because of gravitational forces affect the balance wheel,. That is why turbillon gyrating balance wheel
theoretically is supeior in design for accuracy.
Also, there is the resistence of mechanical parts,
so vintage UG or any other vintage watch will gain or lose time. As a mainsping unwinds resistance changes, so accuracy is affected.
With that being said, fully wound automatics being worn ( constantly wound ) are more
    accurate than manual wind !

Plus or minus ? Position could cause it to gain time, then you move it loses time, your saying on average ? If you set the watch down it being manual wind it has to either lose or gain time !

I think were all getting old and stuck in the analog world, I don't think any of us get looks from younger girls who get the most accurate digital time from gps on their cell phones !

I second this. Properly serviced some of these movements can function at chronometer standard.

I should have said 1 or 2 seconds, fast or slow by an internet clock on my laptop.

Yes, Ive timed watches this way, a very good reading to me on a vintage watch is plus or minus 2 seconds per day, IMHO .

I understood perfectly well what you meant, just being silly. That is very accurate timing! I don't tend to wear my UG chronos, I just sit in a dark corner of my room staring at them like golem. I wear the time only more, but find them a bit erratic. This week I have one running great some days, and about five minutes slow other days. :(
