How about this one I just missed?

Dear OF community,

I am as new as a new born baby can be on this very special planet here, but I think I have an idea for an open discussion, following the thought that everybody has had ups and downs in hunting and I could not find matching threads.

If I'm wrong and it's not new, please let me know.

For me, it was a today's ebay experience. I had been just a few seconds too late on this one:

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Omega-Speedmaster-Professional-Moonwatch-/173601522069?hash=item286b750195:g:TS4AAOSwcBZbzZbo&nma=true&si=yQ5ze8F8ThXxsP1skJkTPRGrW40%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Well, I guess nobody will be willing to share which bargain he just made. Or will you? 馃槜

But sharing the pain should be something we could all talk about, which may help to handle it.

If this is a bad idea to post this thread, please let me know. I will ask the staff to remove it. 馃槈

Thank you!

Winston 1984

Well Winston, it wasn't a bad deal, but not really a great one either, so if I were you I would breath a little easier. The case on that watch is really, really over-polished and worn. It didn't come with a 1450 bracelet either, which would have made it a good deal.

Seller history and crappy photos and over polished case didn鈥檛 help the sale.

This may be a bad example, but my idea for this post started with it.

But come on, everyone has a passed opportunity to tell about?

I have some, that made me some sleepless nights and I will share them here later on.

As a subject, yes there have been threads before about the one that got away.
But feel free to post on every watch you miss out on, misery loves company.馃憤

Well, I didn't find them?

And then, sometimes something needs a new start?

Should I post my experiences elsewhere here?

not a bad price for one of these by itself, but if you're getting one of them specifically, you should look for one that comes with the whole package as the box and contents are part of the value for this one... condition and comments above notwithstanding.

It had gone within 2 or 3 minutes. So was no bad deal I think.

Finding a Speedy Pro at least for less than 3k is different nowadays.

Ok. Will start with the 2915 on ebay I missed in 2012 because I slept while auction ended and my alarm did not go, after having followed this auction for more than a week nervously. It was 4 o'clock in the morning here and those days, I didn't have any bidding agent, to save me from own failure.

It was a beautiful 2915-1 with 15.997.... serial and most likely the successful buyer is here?
how much did it go for?

You would just give a grin...

There's no issue with revealing the price.

Was the lume original? The wrong bezel, chrono hand and suspicious looking 'halos' around some of the plots along with the perfectly matching lume makes me wonder.

Fully original watch with wrong bezel (as usual), radium had departed partially on some indices, as far as I remember.

The wrong chrono hand even indicated that this watch had never seen a factory service.

Would you buy this one for 15k?

It'd have to be that Autavia ... 6, 7 years ago? I mean, I liked it but it was a cushion case. And I wasn't really sure that the orange hands looked all that good on a panda dial. And, well, I could probably get something nice for 拢1300. It's not like it would have had "Chronomatic" on the dial. At least, I hope it didn't.

There are lots of watches that have I have missed out on. The thing is, after they are gone I don t really give them much thought. It makes me wonder if I really wanted it or perhaps it's just a case of waiting for another example to come along.
