·I would go with the Pro. The whole package is IMHO is better than the FOIS.

·Really, really appreciate all the comments, everyone! I heard the Pro love, and I do feel it, but the FOIS just felt "right". I knew it when it was on, but definitely loved certain aspects of the Pro. Maybe I do need both... someday.

Its absolutely how you feel about the watch. When I was looking for my first Omega I was torn between the SMP 300 and the Speedy Pro. I've asked on here and got a mixed bag of responses (although slightly leaning towards the Speedy). Once I went and tried it on, it was no question in my mind. The Speedy was the clear winner. Now I still get the same feeling I put it on.
I will prob still get an SMP down the line, but between these two, it was a clear choice when I first put them both on. The gut knows.

The words, “it feels right” is exactly how you should buy watches.
Upside of the FOIS is, some people can advise on a bracelet and end link combo that will give you a bracelet look too, which with straight lugs and the smaller size is a strong look.
If the leather strap is anything like mine, it will age really nicely!
Now to just get it bought!

·Great wristshot, @Bp1000 - she's a looker. Can't wait! I'll be out for a few days around this weekend's holiday so my AD is shipping it to arrive next Friday. He had two, one those have tried on and another that hasn't touched another soul's skin... I chose the latter. 😀 Number 10xxx.

·You couldn't have gone wrong with either one, it all depends on what looks best to YOU when on your wrist. I have a Pro and a CK2998 Blue Panda, both very comfortable to wear. My only issues with the 19mm leather straps on the FOIS watch (and derivatives) is they are a tad short for my 7.5" wrist, and that that size is not as plentiful as the 20mm strap on the Pro when it comes time to replace the strap to something else.

I’m wearing a 20 mm Omega strap with a deployant on my FOIS right now - didn’t have much of a problem getting it on. So don’t worry that you can only put a 19mm strap on it. The original strap is short, though.

·I’m biased. My vote goes to the speedy pro every time. Did you at least get an impression of which is more comfortable? It comes down to personal preference and comfort.

·Absolutely. It was a tough one, @whyboddau - the Speedy Pro is so iconic.
I had every intention of going with the Speedy Pro. I called the OB the day before and had them set aside one for me to see the next day. When I showed up to see it, that was my plan. So, I tried it on.... and I liked it. But, I didn’t just madly fall in love with it and want to plunk down my Visa. So, I asked if they had a Sapphire model - they did - and so I tried that on. Roughly the same feeling.
Then I asked if they had a FOIS... I knew the watch from photos and had read MANY comparison threads (@Rockmastermike has one here that’s awesome - https://omegaforums.net/threads/fois-and-3570.30298/ ), but once it was even handed to me it felt better. Was it because of the leather band being simply lighter in my hand at that point? Maybe. But when I put it on my wrist, I knew it. THAT was the one.
This thread was very helpful to me to reinforce my decision, even though it was 2-to-1 in favor of the Speedy Pro. The community of insights and everyone just wanting to help was great. Pics in a week! Time is definitely slowing down as I wait for it to get here. 😀

Tried to shake it, but it was gnawing at the back of my mind. Slept on it for 4 days and then asked my AD if they’d make the switch... luckily for me it was a “yes”.
Threw it on a NATO for a few weeks while I wait for a leather strap to make its way across the pond.

I think you made the correct call. I have a small wrist (6.5 in) and love my speedy pro!!
