Help me choose my next Omega!

So you’ll see my collection of Omegas below and the question for this group is what are some thoughts about what to get next.

The Speedy was purchased to mark the birth of my son.

The blue SMPC to mark the purchase of my family home.

The white 300m to mark the birth of my daughter

and the Quartz Blake? Because I wanted it.

What’s next? A friend suggested a Rolex, but after trying to buy one from an AD for my 40th birthday and after getting pretty shitty service along with the usual diatribe about scarcity I just decided I wouldn’t bother with Rolex anymore.

In terms of my profession? I’m a Vice Principal so the Blue SMPC and the Speedmaster get used the most at work.

Well, you (like myself) seem to gravitate towards SMP models, so maybe a Planet Ocean? I pulled the trigger on one a few months back and love it.

Alternatively, you could go for the "now for something TOTALLY different!" approach and hunt down an older Speedmaster 'Casino Dial' or go dressier and different with a current De Ville option - hard to make a 'bad' choice, but hey, personal preference is what makes this fun!

Let us know what you find!

I'd suggest a Globemaster this time. It'll a great daily watch with decent specs. You'll have many options to choose from. A Manhattan collection watch too can be considered.

Great collection you have there.
You already have a chrono and three divers, so how about something dressier for your next Omega? Maybe a Seamaster Aqua Terra? Or if you want something with a GMT/ Worldtimer function, then maybe an Aqua Terra Worldtimer or Planet Ocean GMT?

Great collection, looks like you need to balance it with another Speedmaster. Two of my all time favorites in my collection are the Rising Sun (2020 Tokyo Olympic Red Bezel) and Panda (2020 Tokyo Olympic Black Bezel). I'd be hard pressed to ever part with either of these two watches. Both are right at home with a casual Jean day or heading out for a formal dinner party. Both a 2020 limited run, so value should hold over the years. Can't go wrong with either one IMO. Pictures don't do these watches any justice both look amazing in person. Good luck in your hunt and hope you enjoy what ever Omega you land on.

The suggestion of another speedy makes sense to me I, I briefly owned a second Speedy. Specifically the Schumacher reverse panda dial. I had no emotional attachment to it. It was a cool watch but reading the time on it was difficult as the polished hands would easily get lost in most lighting conditions. Stock picture below:

I tried a Globemaster annual calendar at the boutique and it left an impression on me. The slate grey version with blue hands. It’s a thick boy but unique. I also tried the Bond 300m but felt that the fauxtina was a bit too dark for my taste.

thanks for the feedback gentleman. I’m picking up a snoopy strap at my local boutique soon and will try it on again.

I agree that you should go dressy, either a Globemaster or a Tresor.

Personally, I prefer the look of the “basic” Globemaster over the annual calendar by a very long way, but I also think the Tresor (hopefully) pictured is a good looking watch too.

Edited to add: there are plenty more nice, less common watches out there too. Have you considered something like an Oris, or even a JLC Reverso to really broaden your collection?

I second the Globemaster, or maybe a vintage Omega?

Or maybe you have enough watches........

I’d go for a vintage speedy. An early 861 with step dial. They’ll soon be hard to get at a decent price.

Only one Speedmaster?!?! 😕

Nice collection. Tons of different options to add to your collection. Maybe consider an Aqua Terra. Or a Limited Edition Speedmaster.

So here is the question I’ve been struggling with for a while. Should I sell the quartz Blake? I already have the other two and while I enjoy it as a low maintenance alternative it doesn’t get a whole lot of wrist time. I have the original speedy like bracelet and this Milanese.

I suggest something vintage like a 1960's Connie or Deville.

Unless you really need the money, no.

Always good to have an accurate grab-and-go Seamaster in the collection.

I think you need a dress watch with leather, a suggestion may be an aqua terra with leather, I myself am leaning towards the golf / green hand on black leather , it looks so sharp
