Not sure what the big deal of the red sub is as can overall package..... Single line of text imho does not have a huge impact over a white 1680 for me.... As a whole personally prefer the EW..... My opinion tho but spend your cash on what you like for your enjoyment!!!

I'm pretty sure the 105.003, 105.012 and 145.012 all made it to the moon. E.g. Wasn't Cernan wearing both a 105.003 and 105.012.

Of all the research I did, I couldn't find it confirmed that the EW had been on the moon, just the 1005.12 and 145.012. If it has been confirmed, then I kick myself for not buying That EW a few years back.

Well, none of the little details that any collector obsesses about are really significant for the main purpose of the watch - telling time. If you discount those small details, then you might as well just buy a modern Speedmaster and save yourself a lot of money, rather than getting an Ed White...

It goes both ways...

Not sure what the big deal is about a dot on a bezel...

Yeah, Rolex people are nuts to value text color::facepalm1::

Neither. If I wanted a "diver" with red bits I'd probably head in the direction of something like the Tudor Black Bay or maybe a Zodiac Sea Wolf. Both are from reasonably respected lines and have some degree of heritage (and WIS credibility). I find Rolex subs to be too in your face.

As for the Speedie...hmmm.....I think I get the whole heritage thing, but let's face it, apart from that, it's a pretty plain three subdial chronograph (with a propensity to have a wandering dot somewhere near 90). Very few chronographs catch my eye, with this Zenith El Primero Rainbow being a recent exception.

It's probably a long shot, but can you remember the source? Or point to a forum, book where you may have come acros that info about Cernan?

Thx for the feedback everyone... I'm gonna wear the hell out of my Mr White 😀

The easy answer for me is the one watch related to the upper atmosphere and beyond, it's the only one that fits with Major Kong.

Yeeeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaa!

(forgive me if this has been done, I couldn't be bothered reading the whole four pages).
