You say 'rare' but I鈥檓 sorry to tell you that it鈥檚 actually 鈥榰nique'.

I hope that you haven鈥檛 paid too much for what in collector鈥檚 jargon is called a 'frankenwatch'.

The dial is repainted.
The 552 (very reliable) movement but, as you can see, it鈥檚 a no date version and the case/caseback is for a date version. 166 is the Omega code for a date watch whilst the code for a 552 no date is always 165.***. The case has been over polished and lost it鈥檚 sharpness.

If you love the watch, then enjoy it but it鈥檚 probably not worth what you paid and, if you can return it then you鈥檒l have to crack on with it.

Definitely not authentic color, sorry! We learn from mistakes - beginners should stay away from colorfoul dials all together (selllers are usually scammers...buying broken and ruined watches and then producing this..)

Very comprehensive write-up, not much more to add here!

All I'll say is that movement seems to be in nice shape, on top of being a reliable one. This is basically as far from original as you can get. Omega never put out this model, but if you like how it wears and appears and can live with that, then wear it in good health. There are much worse dials and examples out there.

The advice here would be to get a refund if you can, as enthusiasts and collectors in general do not support the business of hacking watches together, 'refurbishment' and redials etc, and to put your money towards getting an original example, which you'll have many members willing to help you on your search.
