Has Rolex ever commented on the ridiculousness of ADs?

Here's my experience with a Rolex AD. November, 2018, walked into an AD not far from where I live (1st time btw), told the SA I was interested in the Milgauss Z-Blue. He took my information and called me the following month. I still have the Milgauss. In July of 2022, walked back into the same AD, asked for the new Sub 124060. The SA, different from the 1st, took my information and called me in January of this year with the Sub.

Maybe I'm just lucky.

Very lucky.

Ultimately, for Rolex, why police their vast network of ADs when demand continues to rise?

Also, ADs are not applying tactics like pushing other watches solely to Rolex, they apply it to any in-demand watches. I have seen it happen. Easiest thing to do is to politely thank them for their attention and leave.

Regarding production volumes, I do think it's important to distinguish between limiting current production vs. refusing to ramp up infrastructure to meet maximum possible demand. All evidence seems to point that Rolex is in the latter camp, which is perfectly fair business practice in my view.

In my opinion, Rolex is already making enough watches, it's on the consumer to branch out and find better bang for their buck in other brands, and better service from ADs. If you aren't happy with a brand's AD experience, break from the herd and simply move on already.

Yes you are lucky, at least in my experience. I went into my local AD a couple of years ago because I wanted to buy the dark blue OP. As in, if they had one I'd have bought it there and then. I had a coffee, tried on a DJ to check sizing, had a nice chat and was put on "the list". Since then I've heard the square root of eff all. Nothing. They've since opened a new store. Didn't get an email about it. Didn't even get on an email list! Maybe I don't look the part, I dunno.

But the experience I've had at two different brand ADs (Grand Seiko and Omega) couldn't be different. The second one only too happy to sell me my CK859.

I know it's only anecdotal, but there seem to be more stories like mine than yours. Maybe it's the "chain" that is my local rolex AD versus the family jewellers that the other two ADs were. Either way I know where I'd rather go back to. And I think that's kind of the OP's point? Do rolex care they're losing customers? Probably not as they don't seem to be suffering as a consequence. It's a strange business model though. Especially for a mass produced and machine made product!

Travel a bit each year with work…do my best to walk into every empty Rolex store and ask for a Sub.

Yadda Yadda “put you on a waiting list” which usually gets a me walking out half way through the spiel.

Funny as a few weeks ago in Japan they had a security dude with a rope like a nightclub letting people in. Looked dapper and got let in and walked around the empty displays and had the 2 ft shorter than me bouncer let me out.

Grand Seiko had hundreds of watches 👍 And several people engaged in purchases.

Part of Rolex's power move is they generally don't comment on crap like this. Gotta stay mysterious and keep 'em guessing.

My anecdotal experiences were generally positive with Rolex ADs until this year. Went to an AD I've been too before with positive experiences and they seem to have gotten a lot more snooty. Their target market is more the Patek buyer than a watch enthusiast off the street. Maybe the other times I went they were just really bored so they humored me more. Who knows.

I agree with this. The Milgauss in 2018 was before things went crazy, so not sure it was unusual. But the experience for the Sub was great. The SA and I had a great conversation about Tudor, as they had just become a Tudor AD after doubling the size of their showroom. The new showroom had a dedicated Rolex area. Anyway, she said she could get me a Sub in 4 months, but it took 7.

When you make people's favorite watches you can do whatever you want. In my experience, you're treated very well at their boutiques and Rolex service centers are no-nonsense. Rolex ADs will sell your dream watch but you have to be patient. When it's your turn, they call you. There's nothing to it, really.

Simply google rolex negative ad experience and you'll find your opinion is the minority one.

I really have no opinion about whether people have generally good or bad experiences with Rolex sales associates, but this comment is truly hilarious, and demonstrates a kindergartner’s level of critical thinking. It’s hard to imagine that anyone believes they can obtain meaningful information by doing a biased search.

I’m guessing you can do a similar search to prove that ivermectin is effective against COVID, etc. Sorry, you have the right to post your opinions, but IMO this is a stupid thread, and the topic has been beaten to death already.

Your reply is pretty toxic. You can comment without insulting people. Do you speak to people like this offline?

Thank you for the good laugh. You keep doing that. It works out great for you, it seems.

To answer your original question: Rolex did address its production shortage. If you are any good at finding factual and relevant information, you would have found it in 6 seconds.
That's not very grown up.
This sums up your post perfectly.
What are you trying to accomplish with this post? Are you trash talking a popular brand in general? Were they treated you badly? Divorce attorney wore a Rolex? Give me a reason to hate Rolex, is all I’m asking. Regurgitate 10 yearold bullet points is childish.
If so, it's like a cult attracting cult member wannabes. What a garbage brand
Okay…

You sounded like a deranged ex without any context…And you shit on half of the people in this forum, for no apparent reason. Unlike you, we don’t have to pick either Rolex or Omega. The correct answer is both.

I'm not the person insulting people and making things up ("you shit on half of the people in this forum, for no apparent reason").

Please stop making this forum toxic.

Please stop making this forum toxic.

You came out the gate swinging hard at the brand and people owning them. Regurgitated 10 yo bullet points and started a hate thread. You don’t seem to have the basic understanding of lux watch industry, specifically the brand you bash. You spoke of ROLEX “incompetent” management. Lol. Just because you can’t get a watch. And you think I’m toxic?

Rolex being snooty is still better than being completely ignored at the Mercedes dealer. I was actually looking to buy at the Mercedes dealer.
