Has Rolex ever commented on the ridiculousness of ADs?

Does Rolex have a list of acceptable “milestones” on their website? 😁

What about now?

Response: Great! Now you can go back and get your 16th.
Lol, very likely.

Last chance…

Reminds me of the gas stop near here that says last gas before LBI and they clearly are NOT.

Here's my experience with a Rolex AD. November, 2018, walked into an AD not far from where I live (1st time btw), told the SA I was interested in the Milgauss Z-Blue. He took my information and called me the following month. I still have the Milgauss. In July of 2022, walked back into the same AD, asked for the new Sub 124060. The SA, different from the 1st, took my information and called me in January of this year with the Sub.

Maybe I'm just lucky.

The only modern Rolex I've ever really wanted was the Explorer 36. Wasn't sure I wanted to spend that month on a no-date 3 hander but having owned the 39 a while back I think it's one of the best pieces they make, and prefer the smaller format. I had a 3-month wait between ordering and receiving the watch and my AD kept it on hold for months while I completed a locum overseas. It's an AD I've known for years and I have bought a number of watches there, but the list runs into years at our largest national Rolex dealer.

It was overall a very pleasant experience -- certainly far more so than my years on The Big Snoopy List, and required no deposit, wine, flowers or supplications. When I picked it up the AD (owner) noted that while Rolex has strict rules, they tend to abide by them, while Omega has made significant unadvertised changes to their dealer relationships over the past few years, managing deliveries, thinning margins, banning discounts and so forth.

My opinion, having waited for watches from both brands, is that if Omega could behave just like Rolex, they would. And that while some ADs may act like the Evil Rolex Overlord ADs of popular imagination, I suspect that many just want to sell watches and live their lives.

And I really like the Exp 36, far more than the AT 41 I effectively traded for it. Simple, but beautifully made, and incredibly wearable. Closer to the vintage Seamaster I own and a great under the radar watch.

Check the lead time for a Randall knife. I always wanted one.

I acquired several Randall knives when I was on my first tour in Vietnam. Randall moves active duty personnel to the front of the line when they are deploying to a war zone.

So far I have always had a great and pleasant experience with sales advisors at a boutique, but usually it is Watches of Switzerland or some airport ADs. But I know what you mean. Because I have been treated dismissive at a BMW AD.

My buddy just walked into a AD and purchased an Explorer I. No wait list or prior purchases with this AD and they had another one in stock they were trying to move and he said they also had a Yacht Master. Second hand prices on new Rolex's have also really come down. While these are not Subs or really super high demand models it seems to me that the inventory thing may be changing.

This can only be good news, I guess when margins aren’t there in the grey market, far less people are willing to take the gamble to purchase just to flip.
