Hi Folks,

I was invited by my local Omega Boutique to preview the new PO Deep Black recent releases. Thought i'd share some pics and thoughts with you guys 😉.

Boy, where to Start?
The quality and finish of the cases Is top notch! I haven't had the chance to get my Hands on some of the ceramic Speedmasters so I can't compare the new PO's to those. But the quality of craftmanship that went into those New PO cases was realy impressive. Yes, they are huge but weight wise they felt very comfortable. Bezels where top notch also and with crisp edges that give you a realy good grip.

The Zr02 dials don't let you down either! Very glossy but easy to read and perfectly executed.

Bracelets are Rubber/leather. Very comfortable. Clasp Is ceramic reinforced with titanium.

They are a bit to big for my taste, I prefer my 42mm PO. But it was fun fiddling with them anyways.

Excuse my crappy cam snaps:

Cheers,

Max

Hey, thanks! The all black and Sedna(Gold) versions are the ones to get I think. The Sedna version weights in at a hefty 13k € thou.....

So

Zr02 is roughly 2/3 the weight of steel per volume, so the case feeling lighter is no surprise. This is also very noticeable when comparing the normal 9300 Speedy to the SOTM series. With the lighter weight the new POs probably wear much better on the wrist than their predecessors. I think the real engineering feat is making a 600m case out of the (by nature) more brittle material.

Clasp Is ceramic reinforced with titanium.

Actually all the mechanical parts of the clasp are made out of titanium - the only real ceramic part is the two-piece wedge-shaped shroud with both the Omega logo and printing on back.

Either way the newer versions seem like feats of engineering but for what purpose and price? A purely sport/casual black watch for roughly the same retail as a Daytona .....

But Debbie Downer comments aside, thanks for the pics and first hand report, as they definitely add more detailed info out there for any prospective interested parties.

No purpose at all. Ceramic watches are a pure styling feature for me. Apart from the weight difference to the all steel versions and the different feel to the titanium versions. It's not my cup of tea, but it's shiny and new and from omega so the more pics the better. As some might be seriously considering them.

That date window with the "8" looks almost ridiculously small

My issue with these is still the thickness and how high they sit on the wrist. It's a deal breaker for me.

Anyone know if those straps would fit the 45m PO?

It's true. I wish they would make those in a 42mm slimmer case. Would be an Instant buy for me.
