Hello, new to the forum with two questions, as the title states. I want a diver with gmt and/or chronograph functions as well as a working dive bezel. I am looking at these two watches.

    1. Is the 300m reliable and relatively easy to service? I like the idea of it having multiple functions, but it occurred to me that it might be difficult to work on.

2 The Planet Ocean Deep Black is only offered with a rubber strap on the website Would it be feasible to attach a steel bracelet or does something about the design make it impossible?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hey KS225

Somebody wih knowlege will come around to help you soon. In the mean time: Omegas are reliable, but the more complicationes you stuff into a case the more could go wrong and the more difficult and expencive it will be to service. (and the watch will be thick)
The PO deep black is probably a coated PO so if the standard PO has a bracelet maybe it will fit.
Those are both great watches, but I will recomend that you thake a look at some used Aqua terras or Seamaster SMPs. These are IMO better watches, looks better and are easier to sevice. Good luck.
    This is my Seamaster 2254.50

A few things to note here:-
The PO Deep Black has a ceramic case not coated steel.

That means highly scratch resistant but if you do manage to chip/crack the case it’s going to be a very expensive repair.

For servicing costs this might help as a guide

If you like “gadgets” to play with then take a look at the Americas Cup version of the 300M Chronograph, this model has a quick release bracelet/strap system that I don’t think is available on the standard models.

That quick-release option is awesome. Would have saved me from scratching my lugs up every time I switch straps!
