Apologies for going 'off topic' again but whilst we are talking about Lotus cars................ I used to run the London branch of Club Lotus in the 1970s when Graham Arnold ran the club.

My car at the time..............

Such a small world! My Dad bought this Lotus Elan Sprint in 1996 from Paul Marty Sportscars. It was restored by Peter Day in 1988 and his work was subject to a classic and sports car magazine centre spread. Peter looked after the car until he retired so we know him and his work well. The best in the business for Elans for sure!

That is the Elan I "drove" from Scotland to Cambridge around 1989 [1]. "Drove" as in winched it onto the back of the Daytune transporter and then piloted the Transit with nice Elan on the fixed bed and ratty one for restoration on the trailer behind. The ratty Elan was rebuilt for two pilots extremely well known in the historic aircraft restoration world to own jointly.

Small world indeed 😀
