Congrats, but you won't be happy with that strap. Many go with the metal bracelet but I think it detracts of the 'show' which is the dial and the back. I'd be looking to get a custom leather strap made in whatever color, material or stitching you want and put it on an Omega deployant buckle. Keep it simple.

Good advice as always.

I like this but it’s almost as expensive as a moonswatch.

Here are a couple of shots with that particular strap that I found online. Not a bad look, especially with the grey/silver strap, but pricey at $220. It wasn't that long ago when a boutique would comp an Omega deployant clasp and a strap in your choice of color when you bought a Speedmaster, but those days seem to be gone now.

Question for you, will the deployment buckle work with the strap this comes with? I could probably talk them out of one. And if it will, do you measure the width of the logs or the tapered end of the strap?

Well I also picked it up yesterday. For me 4 years and 3 months. I had gone cold on it honestly but then I felt like maybe values will still go up since trump is in and he loves crypto and last time the crypto bros definitely drove up values. I know people have the speculation angle but for me I don't separate. I love collecting but also love keeping the collection in a net positive state, it a fun part of the game for me.

Seeing it in real life now though, it's very enjoyable, more intricate than it looks on pictures and like the silver dial that looks white in pictures. Before only had the barleycorn moonwatch and definitely appreciate how this case design fits on the wrist.

Having felt the same way about pictures, I can say that for real it’s much nicer than pictures convey.

No, the Omega DP buckle won't work with this strap. Deployant buckles always measure the tapered end of the strap, it's either 16mm or 18mm for the Speedmaster depending on which buckle you have. People generally prefer more of a taper these days so they go for the 16mm buckle, but either will work.
