I came across this watch in a pawn shop. Was wondering how it looks from a “is it real “ perspective.

The serial number reads :8795l6v6

The band is stamped f6u outside of the normal Rolex logo ect.

There is no numbers on the case back.

When I turn the normal hand there is a click between hours.

I can see on the glass the laser etched crown. But the no markings on the case back has me in question.

From the surface it looks good, but would need to open the caseback to be certain.

Does it come with B&Ps?

No box and no papers…. I just realized my bluesy doesn’t have a stamp on the caseback also.

Anything else I can check while at the store ?

I’m trying to get the manager to allow me a day to take it to my watch shop for checking out.

I would be suspect without B&P, could be stolen. Just curious, whats the ask?

3k but they don’t know much about it. As is the case with many pawn shop finds I am the watch expert between me and the clerk.
They don’t usually mean Ill will. They just don’t know. Usually they will refund money if it turns out to be fake. But before I go down that road I am trying to get through the research before I get into the return process.

3k suggests to me that they know something is wrong. Don't let greed get in the way of common sense.

They are trying to sell $800 replica for $3000 and letting you figure out if it's fake. Oldest trick in the book. It's the most desirable watch in the Rolex catalog. Every pawn shop on this planet knows what it's worth.

Yeah, exactly this. The pawn shop has google, they can search "Rolex GMT Master II" and see that you'd basically not be able to find ANYTHING by that name for sub-$10k. Pawn shops aren't in business being idiots.

If they've got it listed for $3k, it means they did that googling but know something is wrong with it that make it not worth putting on Ebay at $10k+.

I've DEFINITELY seen a pawn shop not know what they have in the past and list it as if it is a cheaper thing, but never when what they have is written on the face of it.

Shop knowingly bought the replica. If they can sell 3 a month, that’s $6 grands of easy profit.

The watch sells itself. Zero effort.

The only way OP buys a Pepsi GMT for $3000 is…directly from my wife (over my dead body). Cause that’s how much I told her I bought mine for.
