There used to be an earlier post where I questioned about different patina for dial and hands. Another watch sold by a reputable dealer, a 16710 also in year 1991 have the exact same characteristic.

He explained that the hands are tritium and original and do not glow. They are tiny bit lighter, but not luminova.

So just want to share that difference in patina does not definitely mean that the part could be replacement. There's more to it that makes vintage Rolex so endearing.

You will get mixed reviews or acknowledgement for this particular, some not so good experiences with him....

Omg, I heard good reviews of this dealer who seems to be pretty knowledgeable in vintages. Anyone have any personal anecdotes to share?

I read some stuff here at Omegaforums...but have had nothing but easy/honest transactions with Kirill. Know what you're buying and he'll answer anything you'd like, imo a good dealer.

As with any dealer, there will always be lemons.
Just let your fingers do the walk, use the "search" function on this forum...Some folks are happy, some have found "paperclips" on their movements...LOL

No bubble.

You can still get a 16700 for cheaper than a new one. Also keep in mind listed prices are not necessarily selling prices and EU dealers are notably much higher, especially on chrono24.

Rsc in Beverley Hills will with a service...without.....no clue....I chose not to swap but I know they asked...I don't think local ADs in San Diego will swap/sell you inserts.
I called D's and they will do a 1 for 1 swap, the problem is you can't switch to Pepsi if you have Coke.

Good to know. I know he tells me Rolex is tight with the parts, and I usually bring my own if I need swapping lol.

I serviced one and only time @ RSC in Beverly Hills (before I found D's Time Service) with a 16710 and I know I was given options on the insert. Can't be sure if they were willing to let me keep any extra parts though. I hear more successful stories from RSC in Texas.

I've been looking to get another 16710 as I sold my old one back in 2010, I simply can't believe the £7500 being asked for them at the moment, having bought the first one in 2004 for £1850.

Money sure has lost its value.

But I do miss my old one.

£6000-£6500 seems to be the price without papers but as the watch gets older the box and papers seem to matter more (or at least add more to price as full sets become rarer) so I'd rather have them than not.

Now if value goes up, where can I trade my 16710 for a Matte dial 1675 or 16750 😀
