It's a much rarer combo than other matte dial 1675's. Additionally, finding one with nice hands can be challenging as they were prone to rust. Those were also routinely swapped for luminona replacement during service.

Here is another example.

Prices have gone up on all used watches. The only way I see prices coming down is if we see another global financial meltdown.

That's an interesting Bezel...Is it original? I don't recognize the font.

Well I guess the term rare is probably not totally correct, they were just made for a short time from around 1979-1984. Still a bunch of them around, but quite a lot of the original matte dials were replaced by the WG surround dials at the owners request or during service. I like the reference because it has a very similar look to the 1675, especially the Mk 5, while also having the higher beat movement and the quickset date feature.
Also, the handsets on these matte dial 16750s were prone to corrosion and were routinely replaced by a RSC when serviced.

Hi guys. Recently while I am trying to swap my bezel insert from all black to pepsi, I found something wrong. the bezel spins around with no clicking. I discovered that the click spring and tension spring is gone. I managed to recover the click spring though. Just ordered aftermarket tension spring. With these 2 parts, will the bezel be resumed normal service once I get the watchmaker put it back?

Good lesson learned, there is a spring mechanism on modern GMTs whereas none exists on vintage ones. Have to be very careful when removing the bezel as the spring will fly off the watch. Also, when you install it, make sure the triangle aligns to 12.

It's those hairy and unexpected problem. Gotta be more careful with changing inserts. Order a aftermarket tension spring since its hidden and doesn't affect the aesthetics.

My pink Pepsi 16700. Favourite Rolex

as matte 16800/16750 references have increased in value and finally caught up to their four digit counterparts (for the most part) this is my new favorite as the most undervalued "vintage" Rolex. like the 16750, truly a transitional watch.
