Hi

First post here

I bought a Seamaster approx 1958 vintage with an unusual bracelet

Any thoughts? I’ve researched it (with zero skill though) and it may be a very early bracelet usually found with the first Speedmaster

Thanks
Michael

Hi

Thanks for the information

The watch and bracelet were bought together at a deceased estates sale in South Australia a few years ago. $160AUD plus the auction fee. Less than $200AUD total. Sounds like I have a bargain

A nice looking seamaster and a rare bracelet at that price?! Wow! Great pick up!

Yep.
Thanks

It’s quite a wide bracelet but came with 18mm end links. Do you have any idea which watch it might have originally come with?

Probably something like a chronostop/soccer timer or various other models from the mid 70's.

Try Googling Omega 1184 bracelet, there'll be some info.

In fact part of the answer (for the 1184) is in this very thread.

Hi Davidt

I agree

Seems like a real 1184 bracelet is a rare thing. However Google didn’t really help me to decide whether my bracelet was the real thing or a knock-off. Also Google’s results were quite limited no doubt because I didn’t really know where to start. I haven’t been able to establish much beyond the information in this thread. Particularly I have no idea of my bracelet’s rarity nor the watch it originally came with nor what end links might be correct nor it’s value. Hence the noob questions .

Rarity doesn't always equal value. The early 7077 you posted is valuable as it's correct for valuable watches from the late 50's-early 60's.

The 1184 is genuine but it's likely correct for much less valuable and desirable references from the early-mid 70's. Unless you have a reference that it fits, there is no point wasting time ad effort sourcing end links if you aren't going to use it.

Hi

That’s great advice. I’ll use it on one of my watches with the 18mm end links that I already have

I’m glad I posted here. There’s nothing like this sort of information anywhere else as far as I can tell

Thanks again
Michael

I have a vintage Railmaster that came on a near mint, flat link bracelet with single notch #6 end links. However, there is no model number. I've since found numerous other similar examples, including three in this thread. They all have several things in common:

1) The links and outer buckle are identical to those of the presumed model
2) They are date stamped
3) The OMEGA and STAINLESS STEEL stamps appear legit
4) There is no model number stamped.

It is possible these are all "put-togethers", but I think that is unlikely. I've shared this info with UWSEARCH, and he agrees.

I would like to know if other OF members own, or are aware of similar bracelets. And thoughts from the experts: did these come from Omega this way?

With apologies, this is the best I have of my bracelet. But other examples of what I am asking about are at the top of this page, and in the original UWSEARCH post (the 7077 and 7912).

Looks like a 7912 or 7077/7912 transitional. Is there a date inside?
