I assumed it was a 7912. Date stamp 2/61.
Any thoughts as to my question?

Hi

Thanks for the information

The watch and bracelet were bought together at a deceased estates sale in South Australia a few years ago. $160AUD plus the auction fee. Less than $200AUD total. Sounds like I have a bargain

Michael

Great score.
If you ever consider selling, I am based in Sydney..

I have some doubts on the links - for me it looks like a rebuilt 7912.
The non stretch links should be folded and not plain as shown on your picture - same difference as for the 7836 vs. 78360 Rolex bracelets.

Nope. For the 7912, plain link backs until 1963, then folded over.

No worries. If it applies, we cut Rolex Refugees some beginner slack. 😁

From the top to the bottom:

- The oldest (11) 1171 clasp, 633 engraved endlinks and very rare oldest buckle cover (29x15mm)

1. ...many thanks for the time that you spent for this great informative posting 👍👍
2. ...may i ask....the first and oldest model of 1171 bracelet with this special buckle cover, could this be suitable for a 145.022.-68 Transitional speedmaster or did they always come with a 1039 bracelet ?

1116 bracelet would also be correct on a145.022-68

Are there multiple versions of the 1098? Have seen some with model stamped on the clasp while others don’t

Great compilation. I especially like the end link cut out dimensions as I am always pulling out bracelets and measuring them when I come across a pair of unknown numbered ends for sale online and am wondering if they will fit anything I have. Does anyone have any idea how rare 506 ends are and hence their value. Unfortunately I think I sold a 1035 with a pair for a rather good price a year ago. But I did find a box of bracelet parts at an estate sale I had passed up earlier in the day cuz I felt that unless I was in first wave there would be nothing for me. I bought a box with a parts Zodiac bracelet and a number 16 end for cheap. When I got home it had a pair of 6s, 16s and 506s which I never knew existed. That will never happen again. To this day I wonder where the corresponding bracelets are and more importantly their watches!!! Person managing the estate sale said that there had been no Omega watches earlier so I did not feel as I missed them. I also feel I had to be the only one in my area who would have recognized those pieces and wonder if they would have been trashed if not sold.
