This is my Lemania Tre Kronor. Unfortunately, not all of them are visible after barbarian polishing

First post here! So thank you for having me. I've been on the Rolex forums for years and recently I've been bitten by the Speedy bug. I had and sold a Mitsukoshi Mod, a 345.0808 20th Anniversary, and a 145.022-70. I've recently acquired a CK2998, love it and am adding a bracelet soon!

I have a chance to pick up this Lemania Viggen that was recently movement only serviced. I love the look, history and the condition of this one, but I have a question about the lack of number on the caseback. I was told that the first 25 didn't have the number engraved on the caseback, which could very well be true, but I don't know. Also I've seen the number engraved at the 6pm side between the lugs, which this doesn't have either... Could it have been polished off, is it true about the first 25? I want the watch, but I want to make 100% sure I know what I am getting into. Thanks for your info!

@Jfullm42 Welcome to OF, congrats on the 2998 Btw sure there are a few interested parties waiting for you to post something

As for the Viggen it looks correct - note I'm a n00b so I'll defer to the experts.

As you can see the M has had some ware is it possible the numbers are there? Yes the Series 1 early examples though I'm not sure where the line is numerically is. The number is between 6 o'clock. Since your a long time rolex guy where you'd find serial or ref. Can't remberer which round. The number is in xxx format and spot welded. It's very rudimentary but distinguishing and easy to know if it's an early series 1. Further more the serials of the 2 batches are knows some of the pros can help you here.
Cheers Pat

Ps kaplans last auction had a picture I believe.

Thank you tapaptpat for your quick response and knowledge. I sold the gentleman who has this watch the 145.022-70 😀 Waiting for movement and inside case back shots now from him.

Here is a wrist shot of my CK2998!

Totally off subject, but could someone remind me what the three crowns mean?

Not of topic at all, it's a logotype of the Swedish armed forces.
In context it means it's Swedish military issue watch, as the tread title suggests.

Oh cool, I also remember watching hockey games where Swedish team always had those three crowns on their uniforms - as far as I recall

Sorry to bump but if someone can tell me if the numbers AF10316 on the back means military issue? Not from Sweden I guess but maybe south Africa? Thanks!
