    Question for our Swedish brethren, were there any Movado watches issued to the military?

    I've been googling for a week, learnt about the 3 crowns, lots of lemania, a few viggens & omegas... no movado. Also tried Swedish police, but they either seem stressed, in bikinis or dancing.

    A watch I bought online arrived in this box, & i've not heard of an issued Movado before... just curious if anyone has seen or heard of one, or perhaps can explain this box?

    @Bumper
    I agree with @Foo2rama that box wow. I need check my alerts too. I completely missed it.

    Could you post the old ad?
    Love to see caseback in-between lugs, watch left side, right side, and dial of course.

    So I agree i know not of a movado issued watch used in Sweden. UK yes there are issued watches.

    What could it be? My theory and it's only that. It is a gift of some sort. Did come with any paperwork? What did the previous owner know about it.
    Is there an engraving on the back?

    Intrigued

    Yes. At least one I know of. A Movado divers watch with depth indicator thru a "tube device" surrounding the dial and inner rotating bezel. I know the owner and will ask him for a pic to show here.

    Here it is, top right, Nivada Swedish military issued diver with depth indicator. ;-)

    Minamilitrer.JPG

    The blue box with three crowns did most likely come with a NOR watch."Nit Och Redlighet i rikets tjänst"
    A reward for government employees that has served "impeckable" for 30 years. Also awarded to military personel but not an issued watch in it´s true sense. Movado was one of many brands used for NOR.
    I have never encountered a Swedish issued Movado. Yet...

    Haha! I lured him over here. I have been trying for quite a while. He is a dreadful guy. I really do not like him very much. He has only sold me one watch - of all the ones he got and I want. If we combine forces we might get him to post in the Constellation thread... (above pic is only his military watches).

    @Jesper SJ Bra jobbat!

    Welcome, you'll find I like don't like you very much. This dilemma can easily be rectified with a sale or two. Since hijack is not dibsing, I'll place a dibs and dibs and double dibs.

    An Omega on the Omega Forum, couldn't have worked out better. Let's see a picture?

    Obviously I don't have box like this. However I have similar box. So does the Base come out? Sometimes there glued in so be gentle.

    Probably the best bets turn I over and smack it gently like a baby's bottom. Also check the base for any writing or stickers you never know.

    Cheers

    Hi Pat,

    I'll take some pics when i get home, i'm travelling for work... :(

    I took the base out, it wasn't glued in. But there were no stickers, writing or papers of any sort underneath, its a pity as i'm now very curious about the watch that came in this box. :)

    Damn it, I hate when the secret compartment has been spring cleaned.

    As Jesper suggest its a "Nor" award box.

    The possible avenues are..:
    Tracking down recipient and their respective family.
    Finding the Government branch to confirm what they ordered from Movado.
    Or contact Movado and confirm what the Swedish Gov had ordered.

    Great project. [emoji10] [emoji106]
