I'm happy to be here and contribute when I have something worthwhile to say. I have friends that enjoy their watches but I'm a little too "whacko" for their tastes when it comes to discussing them in granular detail. Cheers mates

I am incredibly grateful for this forum ... the depth of knowledge and sharing in many way ... helped me to pick up a 30t2 (you know who you are, thanks!) are a good price via the minefield of fleabay.

Has definately enriched and deepened my love for the hobby...

unfortunately we couldn't help you when you picked a footy team to follow....

but seriously....

One of the finest watch forums on the interweb without a doubt. The depth of knowledge and passion for the brand is remarkable and the lack of snobbery is even more remarkable.

I'll add my thanks to OF. I had just finished reading some recommend info on spotting fakes. As I cruised eBay, I found a watch that was "certifed". Pointy "A" and all. I would likely not hava noticed but for OF. So, as I research my first Omega, thanks to all of you.

I *love* you guys and my 1952 Automatic, but since you're talking about passion and obsession I must add that my dear wife *hates* the fact that "Mr. Toad has a NEW mania!"

MUCH respect & thanks to all the experts on this forum. You and this forum have been instrumental in furthering my new passion (ok, ok, obsession). Hoping I can contribute to this community as my knowledge grows and further its mission.

Thank you too from a lurking and somewhat embryonic stage lover of vintage watches. I have learnt a lot from reading here. Perhaps the main thing I am trying to learn is to sit on my hands when all those lovely shiny things come past on the internet. Respect from me too

A big THANK-YOU to everyone here!

Although I mostly lurk, I enjoy reading the threads and learn along the way. I joined a little over a year ago and was warmly greeted in my 1st post (link). Then, shortly after that - through forum suggestions - contacted George (Kringkily) and he sourced a mint 3570.50 and 2254.50 for me. For the past year, I have enjoyed these two watches immensely and couldn't be happier.

Every once and awhile, I get a small itch to add to my small collection but for now, I'll enjoy reading the threads and learning more about all these nice watches.

Thanks again to all the experienced folks on this forum! 👍

Wayne, you have really started out with a 'bang' here with a Speediorite... now you can work your way 'back' for a Moonwatch!::stirthepot::😁

Congratulations, and welcome to the Forum. I look forward to seeing you AND your Speedie again on these pages...😀

Indeed I do plan on contributing in whatever way I can. i'm grateful for forms like this and will never abuse the privilege of being a member. The wonderful world of keeping time is ever so fascinating, and I'm greatly taken I just how diverse it is indeed.
Omegaforums.net is the best online forum for vintage omegas in the internet. This has been achieved through the vision of Trev and Ash and the participation of many knowledgeable moderators and members who take time out of their busy lives to share what they know about the hobby. This knowledge took many years and thousands of hours of diligent and patient research - poring over internet listings, books, advertisements and closely examining and analyzing watch after watch, dial after dial, part after part. So for the new members - realize and respect this. Do not abuse the privilege of membership here - ask because you are curious and enjoy the fellowship and not because you want to make a quick buck. Do some of the research first. Post good photos. And once you learn something, give something back in return.

First post as a member:

My impressions so far are very positive! Knowledgeable members, great forum software. I'll post my Speedmaster 321 shortly.

I like the seller and buyer feedback forum. Is there a watchmaker feedback thread? My experience with a local watchmaker hasn't been good...

Thank you for all of the great advice you share. I am new to this and looking for my first Omega, and as an unabashed lurker I thought I should go ahead and join...
