    #9720 here.

Had to get rid of my original as it was getting too expensive to wear. Next best thing!

I dunno if I'd go to the absolutes like you did, but I do dig the third stick baton.

In my case bought it just like that, but like the more vintage look of it with the replica dial (big "R"), regular speedy hands and the Ed White chrono second sweep hand (brushed lugs is frosty on the cake ;))

Many people just do the second sweep hand upgrade to solve the disappearing hand issue, simple upgrade with a great improvement! :)

Don't hate me @fskywalker, but I think it is a mistake the so called "second sweep hand upgrade". I think separating the chrono functions and the time functions with the white baton hands and the steel leaf hands was a good choice. I get that the original had the baton hand on the seconds dial, but the FOIS is not a clumsy re-issue, it is an homage - and beautiful in its own right. Just my two cents.

I’ve fully bought into the fact that the hands are not always the most legible. They look so good. This pic is one of the rare times I’ve captured them clearly. 01980498-3C05-4CD1-96A7-4114DAE55F3C.jpeg

My favorite watch. I've got four other Omegas and a Tudor gathering dust.

    How accurate is your FOIS?
I have mine serviced last year and been running crazy fast due to it being magnetized after some wear. Now I am at the boutique and the tech mentioned running 3.4 sec slow.
I dont know if I want to take it back home with me cause its been pretty unreliable.

Edit - so on different position it was running 187sec fast per day. I guess its going to the serivce center.

I have been wearing mine for about 10 days, on and off. Haven't exactly checked time but I wind it in the morning before putting on and when I take off before going to bed, it is pretty exact to the minute. Not sure how to measure seconds difference without equipment etc. No complaints, only praise from me :)

Welcome! Beautiful piece and hope you wear it in good health. OF has been great for me too and I haven't even been here a month!

    #47xx checking in.

As we approach the end of 2018 any further rumblings about an end to production? While I understand that Numbered Editions are not Limited Editions per se, one would have thought a 6+ year cycle and over 10000 of these watches in the wild would be enough. Though I suppose if people keep buying them, Omega won't hesitate to keep making them. Am I the only one who feels a slight tinge of disappointment as these production numbers rise and rise?

It was never a limited edition it was a numbered edition so I can't say that I'm disappointed. It's a great homage and I'm happy that it seems to be a successful watch for Omega. As popular as they seem to be I've yet to see one in the wild.

Enjoying my FOIS today sitting cozy in my library doing some reading while it snows outside. Still in love with how it sits on my wrist.

Doesn't bother me at all. I see a Speedmaster from time to time on people's wrists, but I've never seen one with FOIS edition. So I still feel pretty special. :)

Unless one has an older rarer Speedmaster, then investment value may be there. The newer ones are mere variations of the theme and are nice watches to have and enjoy but are present in such large numbers, They're reliable and serviceable, but not rare, valuable or investments. I enjoy my FOIS Speedmaster, but didn't buy it as an investment, but to wear as an alternative to my vintage 751 Seamaster when a chronograph, or simply a different look is desired. Obviously since 10000 or so are out there, others like this edition as well. I actually like the sapphire crystal over the hesalite that the FOIS offers. For me that was a benefit- I appreciate that was a negative characteristic for a significant number of speedie enthusiasts

Its interesting. I have had absolutely zero issues with visibility or telling time. What am I missing here? Is it under some kind of light that visibility becomes bad? For reference, my FOIS pictured in my post above.
