I'm sure we are all surprised by this. 🙄

This implies that he wasn't lost in the first place. LOL
He almost makes me miss Gutierrez....almost. 😀

It will be interesting to see if Russell can keep his nose clean in the early laps. If he can, I think he might have a shot at scoring some points. I'm also excited to get a Perez v. Bottas rematch!

The racing incident penalties were stupid but at least the stewards were consistently stupid.

Tsunoda was stupid on his penalties entering pit lane but at least he was consistently stupid.

Let’s cut him some slack, still his first year. And luckily for him, there’s a Masepin that makes him look good in comparison. 😁

I don’t remember other rookies making that mistake twice during the same race.

The first thing that comes to mind is Mazepin repeatedly blocking/failing blue flags. But also, 11 drivers all making the same mistake at the end of this race

Latifi and Mazepin were handed 10-second stop-and-go penalties, which translates to 30 seconds added to their race times. Each driver was also given three penalty points, putting Mazepin on five for the current 12-month period, and Latifi on six.

The others escaped punishment.

Raikkonen was given a 20-second time penalty, as well as two penalty points, for causing the collision with Vettel.

I’m talking about improper pit lane entry. Seems like such an easy thing to not get wrong since there’s no one around you and you’re not racing anyone into pit lane.

Oh I fully understand what you were talking about. I was more talking about this

Yuki isn't the only rookie making repeated dumb mistakes: IE Mazepin repeatedly ignoring marshalls who are waving a bright blue flag at him (and he is usually not racing anyone/anyone around). I had a lot of hope for Yuki at the beginning of the season, however, his tone and hot headed/absent minded driving (repeated pit lane entry) makes me wonder if RB/Honda brought him up too soon. He has a ton of potential but I do think he has a lot of maturing and growing to do. I feel the same way about Mazepin, except I don't think he should've been brought up at all. I know why he was but there were other stronger drivers that deserved that seat.

Ultimately, I agree with what you are saying. Not challenging you 😀

Yuki does need to stop calling people idiots and swearing at them for nothing, complaining about a visor tear off and stuff like that, he’s verbally abusing world champions at times and its not a good look for a rookie.

Specially when you compare team radio from Alonso being blocked by both Raikkonen and Vettel. Initially pissed like anyone would be but then showed respect by being calm and acknowledging it wasn’t their fault.

Also Stroll was penalised for speeding in the pit lane - I thought they had limiters meaning they couldn’t do that, or did he just forget to turn it on?

A bit miffed as well at Lando’s penalty (and a couple of the others). These overtaking/defending moves were surely just ‘racing incidents’ - I mean, what’s the point of having DRS, etc. to encourage racing and overtaking when you just penalise riders for racing and defending their positions (especially when it’s not even dangerous).

I wonder if the enforcement of track limits is also related to forcing drivers off the track. I’m betting the FIA wants drivers to stay on the black stuff at all costs.

They do, nowadays speeding usually happens at the entry. I'm sure you've seen them racing to the line where the speed limit area begins, braking in the last second with two standing front tyres which are about to be replaced anywhere. Get it wrong only slightly and cross the line with a few kph too much and you'll get booked.
