My two penneth... I like Monaco, and it's an intrinsic part of the calendar. But the basis of track racing is being able to overtake, (The word 'Lunge' was mentioned plenty of times in the afternoon) and a track that really doesn't permit that is always going to struggle to entertain in that respects. I think the tyre choices didn't help, with everybody cruising round protecting a 1 stop strategy on the basis of holding out for a Safety Car. Maybe a special one-off 3 tyre compound running rule for Monaco. Or an old-style grid formation done off drawing lots?
David Coulthard said driving Monaco is like "trying to fly a helicopter in your lounge room". An apt description.
I have been watching the qualifiers of the Baku F1 from my balcony. Hard to take decent pictures especially as I don't have the best phone in the world. I have to say the sound of the cars is amazing.

Race is going to be good My money is on Hamilton. Virtual money Oh, and Verstappen into the wall trying that 1% too hard.
Nice view Are you on the main straight before the pits / finish line? I read earlier that this is the longest straight in F1, at 1.37 miles long
Hamilton looking good for the race, as even before their dramatic overnight changes to the car, he was comfortable on the long runs on Friday. Ferrari will fade away because of tire deg. It'll be a fight between Max and Lewis again, which is why we all want to see. I would love to see Gasly score a podium here though.
Yes we live on the main road our apartment is about 100 metres behind the start line. The circuit is about 6km and each lap takes around 1.45 minutes. It is certainly an impressive sight, even though I am not a big fan of F1. We have tickets to the Euros football next weekend. Going to see my home country Wales, again Switzerland on Saturday and against Turkey the following Wednesday.
After Verstappen's incredibly bad luck nothing was sweeter than seeing Hamilton locking up and going straight. Karma at work.
Definitely Max vs Lewis drama. Just not the type that everyone was expecting. Looks like Perelli will have some 'splainin to do.
Initial response of Pirelli states that debris may be the cause of both the tyre failures. Let's see if they find anything otherwise. Paul Ricard (These probably wouldbe softs there) may be a challenge for these tyres if somethings wrong. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/...n-crashes-as-they.5eqBGzjXm1ZqptO6YTz3Kq.html
It’s an awfully big co-incidence that they were both rear lefts and at the same point in a straight if its debris rather than structural failure
