New acquisition, a Kontiki 20 with a very rare dial variation. The blue paint tend to discolour a lot, but this one hasn’t changed much so far.

So cool to see how that blue paint deteriorates. Many blue dials of different brands from that era have the same issue. Rolex included.

Thanks a lot. I took some videos of them to further illustrate my point. Note the finishing on the case and bracelets, which is astounding.

Gold capped Eterna-Matic 1000 (no. 38).

Now if only I could find a bracelet like that.

What size are the lugs on that one?

They are 19mm.

I have one. NOS. With Eterna SS buckle. Silver lettering.
Not sure I want to sell it though. Bought 2 a long time ago.

Very nice. I am always on the lookout for stuff like that.
I was however referring to this bracelet:

Oh. You said the watch was gold capped?

That's right. The same refs. were - in my experience - typically issued in gold plated, gold capped and (if the ref. was high end enough) solid gold, too.

I've seen that bracelet for sale, never in gold though.

What a fine looking bracelet. It would really lift the watch to a new level.

Here's my Eterna-Matic 1000. Doesn't get much wrist time, don't know why. Maybe I should buy a few 19mm straps to rejuvenate my relationship with the watch.
