Like that you went with the white hands on the subdials. 馃榾 Have you thought of going with black hour and minute hands?

I was just looking through this thread in anticipation of my franken and this handset looks SO nice on that dial.

This is one of the best mods omega has to offer.

Only Omega doesn't offer it. 馃槈

I鈥檓 curious about this approach. What does a case, movement, and bracelet run? Are you sourcing from Omega? Just wondering if you are going to end up around the $3000-3500 range but with something Omega will service? Hadn鈥檛 considered something like this.
They were pressured for a long time to produce some more and then they must see $$signs.
Omega will service customised watches, they won't however change any parts like for like and will only replace with what was original fitted to the watch on production.
This is why I do ALL my custom builds with Brand New Omega 145.0022 service cases c/w brand new Omega 1861cal service movements which have an 8 digit serial number. Omega don't have a problem with these as they were not originally fitted with any type of dial or hands but they have to service due to it being a genuine Omega service case and service movement.

The dial and handsets are no longer available from Omega. They shut it down. You'll need to buy them from the open market and it is very expensive. Not like back when this thread was active. It's still possible but quite a bit more expensive. The information about Omega service policies is still the same.

Good luck. I almost did this until the supply dried up. It's very attractive.

I did this mod about a year ago through an authorized Omega service center, and they were able to source the parts at cost as service parts.

That's the same as what I was working on. The AD was set to do it and had ordered the parts when Omega told them it was no longer available unless you were serving an original.

Of course it's possible a service center might have something in stock. I would be interested myself in contacting them.

I bought the dial and hands in 2014 or 2015 from a forum member when I got my Speedy Pro. I never did the mod and sold the Speedy a year or so ago. So, it sounds like my best play is to buy a nice preowned Speedy Pro and have a local AD do a service and install the Mitsukoshi dial and hands.

I sure wish OMEGA had a few color variations of the Speedmaster. I know it鈥檚 not supposed to be a run-of-the-mill, pick-a-color DateJust, but this thread (and gray market prices) indicates the demand for a panda Speedy exceeds OMEGA鈥檚 supply.

I鈥檇 love to have a Panda dial with a ceramic bezel...

Don't know why they said that, as the parts can be bought without having the original watch.

You have the two CK2998 LE's that are Panda dials with ceramic bezel, and that's about it.

For whatever reason Omega never made many Panda dialed Speedmasters, you have the Mitsukoshi, the 35th Apollo 11, a Tokyo 2020 version, and maybe one or two others. They made some reverse Panda versions like Speedy Tuesday 1, a Tokyo 2020 version, and a few others. But it's not something that they do too often, they tend to stay with black or dark hued dials. When they do appear you have to jump on it. Unfortunately prices seem to be going up for these panda versions.

I did a similar full mod as well some years ago: the dial and the matching hands. Liked it even better than the Mitsukoshi thanks to the red text. Stunning!

However, the fact that it was not original started to bother me more and more. So it went to a new home, I guess I then bought the Zenith EP38mm...
