Following advice of @Peemacgee, here is a new thread about Deluxe stepped dials found in "dog leg" models.

This two examples were posted in Constellation group on Facebook. Both in solid gold, with one RG and another in YG.

@hoipolloi has one in YG so maybe he can provide some more info. Others are welcome too. 馃嵖

What is the question ?

the original question from @Zapatta was, having seen them on Facebook, do they really exist. (stepped arrow head gold dial in a dogleg case.)
I highlighted the one that Hoi posted in the thread above, he calling it rare.
I think Zapatta wants to see if anyone else on OF has one

We may need more pictures 馃榿

the ones above and Hoi's are possibly the only ones that exist!

May I know the reference number.

Hoi said his was a 168.006 (i.e. a de luxe version of a 168.005)
But it is possible that they could also be the de luxe version of a 14902 (14903?)

What is the question ?
My question in other thread was do these watches really exist or are they franken because I have never seen dog leg with stepped dial. Apparently Hoi has one and why not share it here for reference if anybody stumbles on one in the future.

@Zapatta

About this "rare" version, the best way to know if it is authentic or not is hold each one in your hands with a X10 loupe and lots of knowledge.
You also need permission of the owner to open it up to see what you need to see.
Don't ask me about those because I ( like you) only see it on Facebook and that's all I know.

So it's no way to be sure without having watch in hand and knowledge which I don't have 馃
I'll ask owner if he has caseback pictures, maybe it helps a bit.

I think there's a bit more to it, if Hoi describes it as, " "rare" " and not just, "rare", that to me says something that hasn't quite been said...

I don't have enough knowledge here to fully commit to a comment that I can't stand behind, but AFAIK the only 165.006 Deluxe's that I know to be original are with baton markers and onyx inserts, that of course doesn't mean other versions don't exist, but I do find it somewhat coincidental that these stepped piepan versions are now popping up reasonably regularly and at the moment they are all coming out of Asia.

Also I remember a post here a year or so ago with some extremely good fake stepped piepan Constellation dials, I can't find it now, @hoipolloi I think posted it or commented on it?

It was Hoi that posted the fake stepped dials.

I can鈥檛 believe that @hoipolloi would be so mischievous as to post a 168.006 with a fake dial, so I have to believe at the very least he believes they exist.
But it surely must be a very early 168 dogleg and it would be interesting to know the serial number.

Could this mean that it was some kind of special order for Eastern market? Like 168.001? But if they started popping all of a sudden and were never seen before, that raises suspicion.

About 2 or three years ago, I posted a photo of a mold of a stepped pie pan dial with date window and arrow head markers, I also said that the masters are ready for mass production or something like that.
The arrow head pie pan 168.006 are super rare and they exist. But telling which one is original which one is imitation is super hard, because the knowledge and technology of those masters are better than you.

Would never had thought that the market for those watches were worth the work for those counterfeiters... Very scary 馃槻

I have seen those videos on the Fb group @Zapatta one video showed like 10 pie pans with stepped dial which I think are highly unlikely to be real but the attention to detail that they have is pretty scary , they could even trick a collector ...
