I agree, this thread has followed a positive spirit of inquiry and shown examples of ethical and gentlemanly behaviour from OF members. Great to see.
Having said that, I still find myself chafing at the issue of having potentially bought a bezel that was misrepresented by a seasoned seller on ebay. And the risk that this seller's actions could lead to the proliferation of fake bezels and further muddy the waters in the future.
Can I ask what the general consensus is at this point? Do people agree that it's fake? I've been looking into it a lot in recent days and I can't be 100% - it's not a current service bezel but does share some font similarities to 90's bezels (e.g. from a 3590.50, but without the accent). On the other hand, I've seen pretty much the exact same bezel being sold and explicitly listed as not original as well...
And if it is fake, does anyone have thoughts on how to respond to the matter with the ebay seller? @bags1971, were you thinking of following up with him after all this?
