"Ha ha, you Americans and your need for big cars""

... and trust my words, it makes me feel the richest

When you can drive west of Ft Worth for 7 hours at 70 MILES per hour on an interstate highway and not be out of Texas yet, Yes, we NEED
our cars to be bigger and comfortable. More Grand Touring, less urban parking. FAR more practical than foreigners think. Y'all have almost zero concept of scale, size, vastness. (Unless you are from Siberia, in which case you win!)

Don't look now, There seems to be a shape-shifting reptilian space alien standing next to your car...Don't LOOK at it! ;-)

Incredible, very jealous of your toy. I've been helping my college roommate on a 1953 XK120 and a 1961 XKE that he acquired from his great uncles estate.

The potential is undeniable, these are incredible cars!

Terrific. You are brave men as neither of these is an easy car to restore. The mechanical parts are not an issue but the bodies.... Trying to get flat doors on a 120 is an art in itself but an E is just so complex and there's not a straight panel on it. Good luck.

Your 120 is a drop head so will finish with a glorious wooden dash and a proper hood. Mine's an OTS (Open Two Seater) so has the leather dash but the hood stows away completely when down. Here cooling in the sun yesterday. Just noticed I have knocked my left hand spot out of alignment 馃憥

My E (look the two really have to go together 馃榿) is a '63 Fixed head. Will dig out a photo.

Cheers, Chris

A Texan rancher goes back to visit the old ancestral farm on the west coast of Scotland. The crofter shows him round -- all 30 acres of it. The Texan says "Back home in the States I have a farm where I can drive all day and not reach the edge of it". "Aye," says the scotsman, "I used to have a car like that too."

Gorgeous car. If I weren't 6'7", this would be on my bucket list. For now I'll just eagerly wait for my buddy's to get done so I can ride in it with my knees against my chest.

We're brave enough to tackle the disassembly, labeling and cleaning all of the parts. Making it look like a finished product is going to be up to a local Jag restoration shop.

How about one that is not quite from a car...but this time of year I seem to spend almost as much time behind this wheel...

Good thing is when I drive by the Lilacs, the smell is incredible right now...

Not as prestigious as a speedmaster or any Heuer, but at last I put it to good use today 馃槈

And the outcome is: Totally impractical. Either way you put it on the wrist. Big 60's marketing scam馃槑

We should go on a drive sometime as we're in the same area... I'm in the Morges vicinity. The back and forth drive to Vallorbe via the Mollendruz Pass is still a very nice way to spend an evening as the days are still long-ish, once the kids are in bed... Just let me know 馃槈
