I don't know ? - Are you a slightly 'grumpy', left handed, Advertising & Fashion Photographer, in his Fifties, mildly obsessed with visual, & mechanical precision, who also works as a University Lecturer, likes Cats, & Single Malt ?............There can't be that many of us ?

Left handed: does ambidextrous count?

Photographer: only amateur.

Fifty: almost.

Lecturer: no, but I was paid to write about watches for a while.

Cats: you totally lost me there - I'm a dog person.

Single malt: I prefer port.

Spike, regarding your daily wearer question (sorry my reply/quote doesn't work), please be aware of the water-resistance problems some older watches have. Some are fine, depth rated Seamasters for example, some can't handle rain but you can wash your hands carefully, like some of the older bumpers, and then some don't even like to hear the word water or humidity, such as the older tdmp moon-phase and the oldies without a sealed crown stem.
If you are aware of the water/shock resistance of the one you like, you'll be fine.
