Hello, I am looking for any insight available about this Waltham watch that I've recently inherited. I have tried several different online resources and sadly they were all scammers. This leaving me more unsure than at the beginning, has led me here.
What I know (I think..)
It is a 1960s Waltham dress watch with a 1950s Speidle wristband. It does still work and keeps perfect time. It is still in its original case, which reads that it is 17 Jewels, waterproof, shock resistant and also has a lifetime guarantee which was paid for at time of purchase for $1. I would like to know the value of it and any helpful/interesting information about this piece. Thank you in advance!!

The Speidel band was an aftermarket addition and of no particular value. A Waltham from this era will have a mass produced Swiss movement. It has a chrome covered base metal case. The sentimental value of this watch far exceeds its monetary value. The value is about $50 US on a good day. It is a cool little piece though. I like the red arrow.

Service and a new black leather strap and it’s a good watch for anyone to wear. 😉

I found a similar one on a Korean website.
The secons foto shows you how it should look inside.

A Schild 1187 calibre movement. Watch produced long after Waltham folded as a manufacturer. Waltham in name only. Unless very important sentimentally, don’t spend a lot of money on it.
